Massage to relieve menstrual cramps

Massage to relieve menstrual cramps

Dysmenorrhea is a relatively common gynecological disease. The cause of this disease is very complicated, and it is easy to recur and difficult to treat. Especially some unmarried women will have more or less dysmenorrhea in the few days before menstruation. If it is mild dysmenorrhea, it can be relieved by hot compress with a hot water bag. Of course, dysmenorrhea can also improve symptoms through massage. Let’s introduce it below.

Massage the lower abdomen (increases blood flow to the internal organs in the lower abdomen, promotes microcirculation in the lower abdomen, and has the effect of relieving pain and regulating menstruation) Location: the lower abdomen between the navel and the external genitalia, with the left and right anterior superior iliac spines as the boundaries on both sides. Massage method: Place your hands together in the middle of your lower abdomen, press your abdomen tightly, and slowly massage your abdomen at a frequency of about 10 times per minute until you feel a sense of heat in your lower abdomen. The operation lasts for 5 minutes in total.

Rub obliquely on both sides of the lower abdomen (has the effect of soothing the liver and regulating qi, relieving pain and regulating menstruation). Location: the lower abdomen between the lower edge of the ribs on both sides to the ilium. Massage method: Place both hands on the side of the lower abdomen and rub diagonally from back to front, towards the external genitalia. Do not rub back and forth, keep the direction consistent and rub until heat is achieved. The operation lasts for 5 minutes in total. Press and knead the uterus (stimulating the uterus point is a conditioning technique directly targeting the female reproductive organs, which has significant therapeutic effects and has the effects of promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, regulating qi and relieving pain) Location: The uterus point is located in the lower abdomen, in the middle of the horizontal palm below the navel (4 inches below the navel). This acupoint is located at a point four horizontal fingers away from the left and right (3 inches away from the midline).

It should be noted that if you have dysmenorrhea, you must get enough rest before and after your period, and pay attention to the combination of work and rest. When your period comes, you must not do overly strenuous activities. In addition, do not drink strong tea during your period, and do not undergo X-ray physical examinations. You should also pay attention to actively supplementing your nutrition, such as eating more lean meat and fish.
