Ovarian tumor is a common tumor in women, with the highest mortality rate, which seriously threatens women's health. If ovarian tumors are not treated in time, it may affect women's fertility. Benign tumors are easier to cure. Let's take a look at the types of benign ovarian tumors!

Five categories:

1. Serous cystadenoma: It accounts for 25% of benign ovarian tumors. It is mostly unilateral, spherical, of varying sizes, smooth cystic surface, filled with pale yellow fluid, and some cyst walls have papillary protrusions.

2. Mucinous cystadenoma: accounts for 20% of benign ovarian tumors. Most of them are unilateral, spherical or oval, with a smooth surface, large, multicystic, and filled with gelatinous mucus. The tumor occasionally ruptures, and the tumor cells are extensively implanted on the peritoneal surface, forming a jelly-like mass.

3. Mature teratoma (dermoid cyst): accounts for 10-20% of benign ovarian tumors. It usually occurs between the ages of 20 and 40. Most cases are unilateral, with bilateral cases accounting for 10-17%. Medium size, round or oval, smooth, tough, and the cavity is filled with oil, hair, teeth, and bones. The malignant transformation rate is 2-4%.

4. Theca cell tumor: mostly unilateral, round, oval or lobed, smooth surface, grayish white cross-section, solid. Can secrete estrogen. It is an ovarian tumor with endocrine function.

5. Fibroids: account for 2-5% of benign ovarian tumors. Mostly unilateral. Medium size, smooth or nodular surface. The cut surface is grayish white, solid and hard. Occasionally, patients have pleural effusion and ascites.
