How to recover after giving birth for older women

Young people today are under pressure from work or have higher standards for choosing a spouse, which leads many to marry and have children later in life. It takes several years from knowing each other to falling in love to getting engaged and getting married, so nowadays there are generally more people who get married and have children over the age of 30. We all know that women over 30 years old are basically considered elderly mothers. Today I will introduce to you the issues that elderly mothers need to pay attention to in their postpartum recovery.

First, older mothers need to rest after giving birth. This rest period needs to last for nearly one and a half months. During this period, the mother must recuperate in a clean and quiet environment. Don't do housework too early. Especially for older mothers who have undergone cesarean section, because of their own blood loss, the coagulation factors in the body will increase in order to promote recovery and hemostasis, but at the same time, this state will form blood clots, and there is a certain probability of causing pelvic blood supply problems or lower limb necrosis. The consequences are very serious. Therefore, older mothers need to maintain rest after delivery while also engaging in appropriate activities, which can effectively prevent the occurrence of symptoms. However, remember not to exercise excessively and know when to stop.

Second, be vigilant in preventing complications during pregnancy. Generally speaking, older mothers are much more likely to develop complications such as gestational diabetes than younger mothers, so they need to be observed at all times to ensure safety.

Third, pay attention to preventing postpartum depression. Older mothers are more likely to experience postpartum depression. Older mothers must pay attention to regulating their emotions after giving birth. Family members also need to give enough care and concern, and there must be enough communication so that mothers can avoid the occurrence of postpartum depression.

Fourth, be careful not to over-supplement nutrition. Everyone knows that a woman’s body is very weak after giving birth and she needs to supplement a lot of nutrition. However, because the mother is physically weak and has limited digestion and absorption capacity, she cannot take too much supplements, especially for older mothers.

Through the above introduction, we have basically understood what older mothers need to pay attention to after giving birth. We hope that it can serve as a reference for more female friends who marry and have children late. Since older mothers’ body functions have begun to decline, they should pay more attention to their physical recovery after giving birth.
