How many days before and after the menstrual period is the safe period

Women's menstrual cycle can be divided into menstrual period, ovulation period and safe menstruation period. Generally speaking, having sex during the safe period can achieve the effect of natural contraception, but women's ovulation period is greatly affected by external factors. Therefore, the so-called safe menstrual period is actually not safe, and contraceptive methods are still needed. Nowadays, many young people choose contraceptive measures based on the safe menstrual period to achieve the actual effect of contraception. This requires us to have a certain grasp of the number of days in the safe menstrual period before and after menstruation.

How many days before and after menstruation are the safe menstrual period?

Generally, the 8 days before and after menstruation are the safe menstruation period. However, this method is only applicable to some women with regular menstruation, usually in the first 7 days before menstruation, which we regard as the beginning of the safe menstruation period. This calculation method is based on a 28-day cycle and may not be suitable for every girl. Therefore, safe period contraception cannot be 100%.

The safe menstrual period is divided into the safe menstrual period before ovulation and the safe menstrual period after ovulation. The period from the end of menstruation to the day before ovulation is the safe period before ovulation. From the first day after ovulation to the day before the next menstrual period is the safe period after ovulation. The safe menstruation period after ovulation is safer than the safe menstruation period before ovulation. This is because some women are sometimes affected by environmental damage and mood swings, which cause ovulation to be advanced, thus shortening the safe menstrual period before ovulation.

There is a saying in folk customs that "seven before and eight after" which refers to the ovulation period 7 days before menstruation and 8 days after menstruation (counted from the first day of menarche), which is a relatively safe period for sexual intercourse. Compared with the "last eight days", the "first seven days" is relatively safe. Once the egg is released, it can survive for 1-2 days at most. If a woman can accurately observe the ovulation period by measuring the ovulation temperature, she can even say that the 12 days from the second day after ovulation to the next menstrual period are safe. Even so, pregnancy is still possible because women can ovulate unexpectedly at any time. This shows that in theory, there is no absolutely safe menstruation period in the world.

Warm reminder: Women with regular menstruation have a safe menstrual period within 8 days after their menstrual period, but this method of contraception is not very safe, so it is best to be on the safe side and adopt other effective contraceptive methods.

Is it difficult to get pregnant during the safe menstrual period?

The safe menstrual period refers to not taking any contraceptive measures and avoiding sexual intercourse during the time before and after the ovulation period, when pregnancy is easy. The purpose of contraception can be achieved in this way, but the safe menstrual period is not absolutely safe, because the time of ovulation in women can be delayed or advanced due to their own situation and the surrounding environment, temperature and climate. In this way, contraception during the safe period is not safe.

At the same time, there is also a term for the safe menstruation period, which is seven days before and eight days after the menstruation. The seven days before and eight days after the menstruation are all considered a safe menstruation period. If you do not want to get pregnant, you can effectively avoid the ovulation period and have sex during the safe menstruation period. It will be better if you have contraceptive measures.
