How to stimulate lactation in mothers

For many mothers who have just given birth, the arrival of the baby must be a very joyful thing for the whole family, but what mothers are most worried about is the feeding of the baby. Many new mothers will encounter the problem of insufficient milk, because the baby can only rely on breast milk to maintain nutrition at the beginning. Therefore, how to induce milk production is what mothers want to know most, and many people have been troubled by this. In fact, as long as there is a scientific and reasonable method, inducing milk production is not a very painful thing.

The production of milk in a new mother's breasts is a normal physiological process, which can be initiated naturally in most cases without the need for external intervention. In fact, the breasts begin to synthesize milk in the second trimester. After the baby is born, he can suck colostrum. During the first three days after delivery, the new mother's breasts are not very full. The breast milk at this time is relatively viscous and slightly yellow, and the secretion amount is not very large. This does not mean that the new mother has no milk. On the contrary, what the new mother provides to the baby is the very precious colostrum that is rich in antibodies and can meet all the needs of the newborn baby. As the level of progesterone drops after childbirth, the breast, the big factory of baby food, receives the signal that the baby has been born and starts to secrete large amounts of milk.

Generally, 3-5 days after delivery, new mothers will feel their milk coming in and their mammary glands will begin to secrete real milk. As for mothers who have undergone cesarean section, they can rest assured because it is progesterone that acts as a switch for milk secretion. In other words, as long as the placenta leaves the mother's body, progesterone will naturally drop. This is a process that every mother will go through. Even if it is a cesarean section, the placenta must be removed after the baby is taken out. Therefore, whether it is a natural birth or a cesarean section, as long as the placenta leaves the mother's body, the switch of milk secretion is turned on, and the breasts will automatically secrete food suitable for the baby's growth and development.

In fact, many new mothers are too worried because they have no experience. Generally speaking, the mother will not have breast milk immediately after giving birth, and the baby does not need breast milk as soon as it is born. It is necessary to wait until about three to five days after delivery for the mother to start secreting milk, and the baby will also need breast milk at that time. As time goes by, breast milk will naturally be secreted more. Mothers should also pay attention to eating some milk-inducing foods in normal times.
