Can I eat cookies during confinement?

After giving birth, the mother needs to have a good rest for a while. People call this period of time confinement. During the confinement period, the mother's every move is closely related to the health of the child. You must pay attention to your diet. There are many things that you cannot eat. Some mothers want to eat biscuits during the confinement period. Is this practice advisable? Let’s take a look at what the gynecologists say.

1. You can eat cookies

You can eat biscuits during the confinement period, but you cannot eat them as a main meal. It is recommended to eat some nutritious and high-quality protein foods during confinement, such as lean meat, etc. You can also drink more soup to help increase milk production. Eat more vegetables and fruits (it is best to blanch the fruits or drink hot juice), drink plenty of water, eat a light diet, and avoid catching a cold.

2. What should you pay attention to during confinement?

Hair and body should be washed regularly to keep them clean and avoid bacterial infection and inflammation. In ancient times, due to the simple environment, poor living conditions and the lack of electrical appliances, the regulations were stricter, and there was a restriction of not being able to wash hair or take a bath for a month. Modern people don’t have to work so hard. When washing your hair or taking a bath, use warm water at about 40℃ and dry your hair with a dry towel in time after washing. As the climate and temperature and humidity of the living environment change, the clothing worn by the mother and the electrical equipment used indoors should be appropriately adjusted. The indoor temperature should be about 25-26°C, and the humidity should be about 50%-60%. Long sleeves, long pants, and socks should be worn to avoid catching a cold or having the joints invaded by wind, cold, and moisture.

In fact, there is no such thing as confinement in foreign countries. Most mothers return to work after a week of rest. Therefore, there are not as many taboos during the confinement period as rumored among the people. As long as it does not affect your health, there is no problem in eating some biscuits. However, do not eat them as a meal to avoid malnutrition.
