Is cervical cyst serious?

The uterus is a very important organ for women because it is the earliest habitat for new life and the earliest source of nutrition. When we are still a fertilized egg, we are attached to the wall of the uterus, absorbing nutrients from it and growing little by little. But sometimes, the uterus may be troubled by various diseases, cervical cyst is one of them. Today I will tell you some common knowledge about cervical cysts.

Cervical cyst, also known as "cervical gland retention cyst", also known as "Nabot cyst", "Nabot gland cyst", or simply "Nabot cyst", is a type of cervicitis. It usually occurs during the healing process of cervicitis, when the secretions in the cervical glands are blocked by excessive proliferation of new squamous epithelium and the cervical gland ducts are formed into cystic tumors. They are generally small and scattered, protruding from the surface of the cervix. Yellowish-white fluid accumulates in the glands to form cysts of varying sizes.

Cervical cyst is a kind of chronic lesion of cervicitis. Most of them have no obvious symptoms. The main manifestation of cervicitis is increased vaginal discharge. Due to different pathogens, the color, amount, and properties of vaginal discharge are also different. Leucorrhea may be sticky and purulent, and in some cases may contain streaks of blood or a small amount of blood. In very rare cases, there may also be contact bleeding. If accompanied by pelvic inflammatory disease, lower abdominal or lumbar pain, or dysmenorrhea may occur. It was discovered accidentally during physical examination and no special treatment was required. If the glandular cyst is large and accompanied by increased vaginal discharge and other discomforts, timely treatment is required.

Symptoms can be observed, and cervical scraping (TCT) can be performed regularly; or the cervix can be punctured with a needle and coated with iodine; if accompanied by inflammation, the inflammation can be treated accordingly; physical therapy can also be used, such as microwave, laser, freezing, electric ironing, etc. If there are no other associated conditions (such as cervical lesions, etc.), colposcopy or LEEP treatments are generally not recommended. It can also be treated with external Chinese medicine.

Female friends should pay attention to hygiene, change their underwear every day and clean their vulva. During special periods such as menstruation, you should pay more attention to protecting yourself, be careful not to catch cold, and do not eat spicy and irritating foods. In addition, if conditions permit, you can have regular gynecological examinations, as diseases are easier to treat the earlier they are discovered.
