How to treat yeast infection in women?

Mold can be said to be everywhere, and it will infect the human body as long as there is a suitable opportunity. Women are more likely to get fungal infections. The most common fungal infection is candidal vaginitis. Patients often have symptoms such as increased leucorrhea and vulvar itching, which often make female friends suffer. So, if a female friend has this kind of fungal infection, how should she be treated?

Experts recommend a three-pronged approach of oral medication, suppositories, and lotions. For example, one "Daconin" suppository can be used per day for three consecutive days, and one "Canesten" suppository is usually enough, and it is best to use another one after one week to consolidate the therapeutic effect. Oral "Maimino" is suitable for pregnant women and is relatively safe for the fetus. It can be taken orally for one week, but intravaginal douching is prohibited to avoid affecting the fetus.

For some patients, symptoms will improve or disappear quickly after oral and topical treatments, but this does not mean that fungal vulvovaginitis has been cured, but that Candida has been temporarily suppressed. Patients must not stop taking the medicine, but should follow the doctor's instructions, complete the course of treatment (the medicine can be suspended during menstruation), and then go to the hospital for a gynecological examination and microscopic examination of vaginal secretions after the menstruation is over. A negative result means that the patient has recovered recently. Treatment will continue if necessary. Only when gynecological examinations and microscopic examinations of vaginal secretions show no abnormalities for three consecutive months can it be considered completely cured.

Some patients do not follow the medication rules. They stop taking the medication without authorization when their symptoms improve slightly. Soon the symptoms reappear, so they take the medication again for a period of time, and stop taking the medication again when the symptoms disappear. If the drug is used on and off like this, Candida will develop drug resistance, affect the efficacy of the drug, and lead to chronic candidal vaginitis, which is difficult to cure, causing inconvenience to the patient's life and causing mental stress.

Candidal vaginitis is relatively stubborn. If treatment is stopped after the symptoms disappear, the disease will often recur and the fungus may even become resistant to drugs, making it even more difficult to treat. Therefore, when treating a disease, you must pay attention to persisting in the treatment and have regular check-ups. It is best to treat the disease together with your spouse, so that you can achieve a complete cure.
