How should urinary tract infections in women be treated?

Urinary tract infection is a very common urinary disease that affects both sexes and ages. Young or old, female or male, anyone can suffer from urinary tract infection. When infected, patients may experience urinary pain, urgency, and inability to urinate completely. Once symptoms such as bleeding occur, we need to pay attention. So how should women treat urinary tract infections?

1. Good habits should be developed

Drink more water. Drink more than 3000 ml of water every day to play the diuretic effect of water, flush out parasitic bacteria in the urethra and eliminate the risk of infection.

Pay attention to personal hygiene, take a bath frequently, change underwear frequently, wear cotton underwear that is breathable and absorbent, pay more attention to hygiene during sex, and wipe clean from the vulva to the anus after defecation;

Do not hold your urine and urinate every 2 to 3 hours to prevent bacteria from growing in the urinary tract. Avoid developing bad habits such as excessive drinking, long periods of sitting, and long-term driving. When you are in a hurry to urinate, do not delay going to the toilet.

2. Eat and live properly

Patients should have a light diet and eat less irritating foods, such as chili peppers, ginger, onions, garlic, etc., and do not drink alcohol. During the remission period, it is advisable to eat more nourishing and kidney-benefiting foods, such as lean meat, fish, shrimp, fungus, etc., to strengthen the physical fitness and improve the body's immunity. During the attack period, eat mainly light, easily digestible and nutritious food, drink more light tea or boiled water, and eat some foods that invigorate qi, detoxify and promote diuresis, such as mung bean soup, winter melon soup, pears, etc. Eat less spinach, because spinach contains more oxalic acid. Oxalic acid and calcium combine to form insoluble calcium oxalate, which can easily form urinary stones in patients with chronic urinary tract infections.

3. Drug treatment should be reasonable

To completely treat urinary tract infection, the symptoms can usually be alleviated by taking medicine for two days, but the disease is not completely cured. Treatment should be continued for one to two weeks. The medication can be stopped only when the routine urine test is completely normal for two to three consecutive times. Otherwise, if urinary tract infection is not treated properly, it can easily become chronic. In severe cases, it may even cause serious complications such as sepsis and septic shock. Chronic pyelonephritis can also lead to chronic renal failure. When you are sick, don’t take medicine blindly. Store some common medicines at home, such as Sanjin Tablets, Isatis Root, etc.

The above article introduces some methods for treating female urinary tract infections. The main reason for female urinary tract infections is that the weather is too hot in summer, the urethra is moist and bacteria breed. In addition, special attention should be paid to personal hygiene in summer, such as changing underwear frequently. You should choose a treatment method that suits you. Traditional Chinese medicine is more recommended and has relatively small side effects.
