What are the causes of dysmenorrhea?

For girls who have experienced their first menstruation, it means they have taken a big step towards becoming mature women. However, when they gradually grow up to become graceful young ladies, some of them will suffer from a problem called "dysmenorrhea". As the name suggests, dysmenorrhea means severe abdominal pain during menstruation. Some girls asked, why do they have dysmenorrhea? What should I do if I have dysmenorrhea? Don’t worry, I’ll explain it to you right away.

Causes:

1. The occurrence of primary dysmenorrhea is mainly related to the increase in endometrial prostaglandin content during menstruation. Elevated PGF2α levels are the main cause of dysmenorrhea. High levels of PGF2α can cause excessive contraction of uterine smooth muscle and vascular spasm, resulting in uterine ischemia and hypoxia and dysmenorrhea.

2. Increase in substances such as vasopressin, endogenous oxytocin and β-endorphin.

3. Mental and neurological factors.

Treatment:

Dysmenorrhea is a common symptom among women. Dysmenorrhea before marriage will disappear naturally as you grow up, especially after marriage and childbirth, and there is no need for treatment. Except in individual cases. However, dysmenorrhea pain that lasts for up to 3 days should be treated. The treatment of primary dysmenorrhea is mainly symptomatic treatment, with analgesia and sedation as the main therapies. In recent years, comprehensive treatments have been adopted, including spiritual counseling, Chinese medicine, Western medicine and acupuncture.

1. General treatment (1) Emphasis on psychological treatment to eliminate tension and worries. (2) Get enough rest and sleep, exercise regularly and moderately, and quit smoking. (3) When the pain is unbearable, supplement with medication.

2. Drug treatment (1) Prostaglandin synthase inhibitors Commonly used drugs include ibuprofen, ketoprofen, meclofenamic acid, diclofenac, etc. (2) Oral contraceptives are suitable for women with dysmenorrhea who require contraception, with an effectiveness rate of over 90%.

Dysmenorrhea is not terrible, on the contrary it is extremely common. Therefore, if girls experience dysmenorrhea, they must avoid strenuous exercise and eating chocolate, cold foods, etc., which may lead to increased menstrual volume or delayed menstruation. Finally, I hope every girl can alleviate the trouble of dysmenorrhea and become a beautiful woman.
