Canalys: Smartphone shipments in Europe (excluding Russia) in Q4 2023 were 37.8 million, a year-on-year decrease of 3%.

According to the latest data released by Canalys, smartphone shipments in Europe (excluding Russia) in the fourth quarter of 2023 were 37.8 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 3%. Apple reversed the situation of being behind Samsung for seven consecutive quarters and regained its leading position with shipments of 12.4 million units, a year-on-year increase of 1%. Samsung ranked second with shipments of 10.8 million units, a decrease of 12%.

Xiaomi's sales fell 10% to 6 million units, but it still maintained its third position thanks to its strong momentum in Central and Eastern Europe.

Motorola and Honor ranked fourth and fifth respectively. Motorola shipped 2 million units, a year-on-year surge of 73%, while Honor shipped 1.1 million units, a year-on-year increase of 116%.

Canalys pointed out in the report that in the fourth quarter of 2023, high-end smartphones achieved a record high market share in Europe, with nearly 40% of smartphones shipped priced at US$800 or above.

In the market priced above USD 800, Apple's market share is as high as 77%, far exceeding other competitors.
