What causes vaginal inflammation?

Vaginitis can be roughly divided into six types: bacterial vaginitis, candidal vaginitis, candidal vaginitis, senile vaginitis, juvenile vaginitis and vaginitis during pregnancy. The causes of different types of vaginitis are undoubtedly different. Only after we determine the cause of the disease can we better understand what kind of vaginitis we have, and then take symptomatic treatment and cure as soon as possible. What exactly causes vaginitis?

1. Bacterial vaginitis: A mixed infection caused by Gardnerella and some hypoxic bacteria in the vagina, which causes an imbalance in the diversity of female vaginal microorganisms, resulting in increased female secretions, fishy odor, and a syndrome of itchy and hot vulva. The disease can also be transmitted through sexual intercourse, and its prevalence is higher in groups with disordered sexual behavior. The main causes of the disease are touching toilets, bathtubs, bathroom seats, cotton towels in public toilets that are infected with fungi, or using dirty handkerchiefs. In addition, some women in order to maintain hygiene, often use medicinal lotions to douche the vagina, which destroys the acid and alkali environment in the vagina and is also prone to bacterial vaginitis.

2. Candidal vaginitis: The microvilli-containing pyriform plasmodium - vaginal fungi invade the vagina and cause the disease. Most cases are asymptomatic. If the patient feels any discomfort, it may last for a week or several months, and then it will improve significantly due to menstruation or pregnancy.

3. Fungal vaginitis: Fungal vaginitis or Trichomonas vaginitis is a common and multiple vulvovaginal inflammation disease caused by Trichomonas. Trichomonas is a type of bacteria, and vaginitis is usually caused by Candida albicans among Trichomonas. 10% to 20% of non-pregnant women and 30% of pregnant women have this bacteria parasitizing in the vagina, but the amount of bacteria is small and does not cause symptoms. Vaginitis symptoms will only occur when the body's and vagina's resistance is reduced, especially when some body cells' immunity is low and Candida albicans multiplies.

4. Vaginitis in the elderly: Due to ovarian decline, estrogen levels decrease, vaginal walls shrink, mucosa softens, glycogen content in squamous epithelial cells decreases, female vaginal pH increases, local resistance decreases, pathogens can easily invade and multiply, causing inflammation.

5. Childhood vaginitis: The main causes of the disease are poor hygiene of the private parts and foreign objects inserted into the vagina. In addition, it may also be that the excrement is not handled properly and pinworm eggs are contaminated by people or objects on the girl's vulva, causing inflammation. After a woman has a respiratory tract infection or a urinary tract infection, it is possible that bacteria are directly transmitted to the vagina through dust and cause infection.

6. Vaginitis during pregnancy: There are several main sources of pathogens of vaginitis during pregnancy. One is from the beneficial bacteria that originally parasitize in the female vagina, and the other is from pathogens that invade from the outside. During pregnancy, due to changes in female hormones, the pH value in the vagina is likely to change, which can easily lead to vaginitis. If pregnant women touch infected public toilets, bathtubs, bathroom seats, cotton towels, or use unclean handkerchiefs, they may get infected and suffer from vaginitis.
