Why do I get acne after pregnancy?

We know that once entering the pregnancy period, the pregnant mother's body will gradually undergo many changes, some of which will cause constipation and vomiting. Moreover, the skin will also have different degrees of bad symptoms, and the patient's skin at this time often looks darker. Or a lot of pimples appear one after another, which looks ugly. So why does acne appear on the skin after pregnancy?

Skin changes during pregnancy

During pregnancy, pregnant mothers are affected by the increase of progesterone, which causes an increase in melanin, pigmentation on the skin, and pregnancy spots. Brown pregnancy spots may appear on the face or neck of pregnant mothers. Generally, the symptoms disappear on their own a few months after delivery or weaning. Some pregnant women develop acne-like pimples on their face, chest, and back. Some women also experience smoother and more delicate skin after pregnancy.

It’s easy to get acne during pregnancy!

Skin "acne" during pregnancy is related to the hormone levels during pregnancy, and more to the genetics of the pregnant woman. During pregnancy, the placenta villi secrete a large amount of estrogen and progesterone, as well as some increased androgen. Promotes the growth of body hair and enlargement of skin pores. Acne is mostly caused by two reasons. One is that the skin is oily, the sebaceous glands are overdeveloped, and the sebum secretion is excessive. If the pores are clogged or oil cannot be discharged smoothly due to other reasons, the sebaceous glands will continue to secrete, and sebum will accumulate in the pores, causing bulges and pimples. Another reason is that the imbalance of hormone secretion in the body causes acne on the skin.

Pregnant mothers carrying boys are more likely to get acne!

Acne may be caused by high androgen in the body. When a mother is pregnant with a boy, the androgen in her body will increase accordingly, so pregnant mothers who are pregnant with boys are more likely to get acne, but there are also pregnant mothers who are pregnant with girls who get acne. These pregnant mothers may be prone to acne during puberty.

And you should know that, in addition to the symptoms of acne, although some changes can be perceived, some changes in the body (such as darkening of the labia) may not be obvious to pregnant women. Once a pregnant woman finds that she has a lot of acne on her body, she should not use acne-removing drugs casually.
