What is the thick brown vaginal discharge?

What is the thick brown vaginal discharge?

Leucorrhea is a kind of mucus secreted by the female genitals. Normal leucorrhea is colorless, odorless and transparent. When a woman suffers from gynecological inflammation or has the precursor of a gynecological disease, abnormal leucorrhea will occur, such as discoloration, odor, thick leucorrhea, etc. Sometimes the vaginal discharge is brown and thick. So, what causes women’s vaginal discharge to be brown and sticky?

1. Cervicitis (erosion). Many married women suffer from cervicitis, especially those with moderate or severe cervical erosion. During sexual intercourse, the rubbing of the glans of the man's penis against the cervix can cause injury and bleeding.

2. Cervical polyps. The cervix is stimulated by chronic inflammation for a long time, and single or multiple pedunculated polyps may grow at the cervical opening. The polyps are fragile and tender and will bleed if touched.

3. Endometriosis. Some endometriosis grows on the cervix and appears as blue-purple nodules. The amount of bleeding is generally small and dark red, and abdominal pain often occurs after intercourse.

4. Cervical cancer. Bleeding after sexual intercourse or bloody vaginal discharge are its earliest symptoms. Because there are more small blood vessels and the tissues are more fragile in the cancer lesions, the capillaries will rupture and bleed due to damage after each sexual intercourse.

5. Side effects caused by intrauterine contraceptive device.

6. If bloody vaginal discharge occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle, it may be related to ovulation bleeding. If there are no discomfort symptoms, no treatment is necessary.

In life, we can also diagnose some types of gynecological diseases from the color of leucorrhea. Therefore, brown leucorrhea is mainly caused by some diseases such as cervicitis, cervical erosion, some cervical polyps, endometriosis, cervical cancer and intrauterine contraceptive devices.

The above is an introduction to the reasons that cause women's leucorrhea to be brown and thick. When you find that you have brown and thick leucorrhea, you must remember to go to the hospital for examination in time. Cervical problems should not be underestimated. During treatment, you should actively cooperate with the doctor and eat less spicy food to avoid irritating the cervical wound.
