Precautions after cryotherapy for cervical erosion

Precautions after cryotherapy for cervical erosion

Currently, the main clinical method for treating cervical erosion is cryotherapy. However, some precautions need to be taken after cryotherapy for cervical erosion so that the treatment effect can be optimal. However, many people are not particularly familiar with these precautions. Here we invite gynecological professionals to explain these precautions in detail. I hope everyone can understand.

1. First of all, you need to understand the natural process of the entire cryotherapy reaction: freezing, whitening →→ (a few minutes) thawing, swelling and pain →→ (3-5 days) blisters, bullae, can break →→ (7-10 days) dry scabs →→ (3-4 weeks) scabs fall off, white spots in the center and black spots around →→ (4-6 months later) most patients tend to have the same color, atrophic scars

2. Strictly understand the indications and contraindications of cryotherapy. For the elderly, weak, and mentally stressed people, it is best to adopt supine treatment to prevent collapse.

3. Pain may occur in local tissues n hours after treatment and disappear on its own after 1 to 2 days. Painkillers can be taken if necessary.

4. If local tissues become swollen, blisters, or bullae appear 3 to 5 days after treatment, and there is too much blister fluid, you can use a sterile syringe to draw it out or puncture it, but do not tear off the blister wall. Note: It is more obvious in areas with loose tissue such as around the eye sockets or with tender skin.

5. The mucosa will begin to necrotize the day after treatment, the skin will begin to necrotize 3 to 5 days after treatment, and the scab will generally begin to fall off 3 to 4 weeks later. During the entire process, the wound should be kept clean and away from water; apply antibiotic ointment daily to prevent secondary infection. After the scab forms on the wound, it should be allowed to fall off naturally, and should not be peeled off forcibly.

6. If the lesion is not healed after one treatment and needs to be repeated, wait until the scab falls off by itself before repeating the treatment.

7. Generally, after cryotherapy, there is depigmentation in the center of the lesion and pigmentation around it. Especially after receiving cryotherapy on the face, you should pay attention to shading and sun protection to avoid aggravating local pigmentation.

8. If there are blood vessels or the frozen area is too deep, some patients may experience delayed edema, exudation, blood blisters, bleeding, chronic ulcers, hypertrophic scars, non-healing of the wound surface, etc., and active symptomatic treatment should be given early. Special attention should be paid when treating the face.

9. Some patients may experience local neurological dysfunction, such as skin numbness and pain, which generally recover gradually within 3 to 6 months.

10. If during the freezing process or after treatment, some patients experience systemic reactions such as skin redness, wheals, itching, headache, dizziness, fever, collapse and heart block, the operation should be stopped immediately and rescue should be carried out in time.

I hope that patients with cervical erosion will pay attention to the above 10 matters after receiving cryotherapy. This is also for your own body to recover as soon as possible. Why not do something that is good for your health? However, one last thing I need to remind everyone is that you must go to a professional gynecological hospital for cryotherapy, and never go to small clinics.
