Some time ago, I saw many of my friends around me testing ovulation before and after their menstrual period. I can't help but wonder, if we want to test ovulation, what is the right way to do it? Today I will tell you how to test ovulation. How to calculate ovulation period First, observe the cervical mucus The cervical mucus is often dense in a small quantity, or even with no mucus at all after the menstruation is over, and it is called the "dry period", indicating a non-ovulation period. In the middle of the menstrual cycle, as endocrine secretions change, mucus increases and becomes thinner, and vaginal secretions increase, which is called the "wet period." As ovulation approaches, the mucus becomes clear, smooth and elastic, like egg white, with high stringiness and not easy to break. The last day of the appearance of this mucus ± 48 hours is the ovulation day. Therefore, when the vagina feels moist, it is the ovulation period, also known as the "fertile period." If you plan to conceive, you should choose the "wet period" before ovulation. Second, measure basal body temperature Women's basal body temperature changes periodically. The increase in basal body temperature after ovulation can indicate that ovulation has occurred. Ovulation generally occurs in the process of basal body temperature rising from low to high before it rises. The three days when the basal body temperature is at an elevated level is the "fertile stage", but this method can only indicate that ovulation has occurred, and cannot predict when ovulation will occur. It is worth noting that the basal body temperature must be measured and recorded after 6 hours of adequate sleep, before waking up and before engaging in any activities. Any special circumstances may affect the change in basal body temperature and should be recorded, such as sexual intercourse the night before, a recent cold, etc. It is necessary to test repeatedly and connect the points with lines. Under normal circumstances, the body temperature rises by 0.3-0.5℃ after ovulation, which is called biphasic body temperature. If there is no ovulation, the body temperature will not rise, and the body temperature will remain low throughout the cycle, which is called monophasic body temperature. If your menstruation is irregular or your lifestyle is irregular, such as night shifts, business trips, insomnia, mood changes, illness, etc., this method cannot be used to determine whether ovulation has occurred. The third is the menstrual period calculation method Many women do not know when they ovulate. Using the following formula and after a period of testing, it is easy to calculate. For normal menstrual cycles: Female ovulation is affected by endocrine hormones from the pituitary gland and ovaries and changes periodically. The length of the cycles of the two is the same, with one cycle per month, and ovulation occurs between two menstrual periods. Women's menstrual cycles vary in length, but the interval between ovulation and the start of the next menstruation is relatively fixed, usually around 14 days. Based on the relationship between ovulation and menstruation, the ovulation period can be calculated according to the menstrual cycle. The calculation method is to count from the first day of the next menstrual period, and count down 14 days or subtract 14 days to get the ovulation day. The ovulation day and the 5 days before and 4 days after are called the ovulation period. This is also the theoretical basis of the safe period contraceptive method, because in the menstrual cycle, except for the menstrual period and ovulation period, the rest of the time is the safe period. For example, if the menstrual cycle is 30 days, the first day of this menstruation is September 29, then the next menstruation will be on October 29 (September 29 plus 30 days), and then subtract 14 days from October 29, then October 15 is the ovulation day. The ovulation day and the 5 days before and 4 days after, that is, the ten days from October 10th to 19th are the ovulation period. The above is an introduction to how to detect ovulation before menstruation. I believe you should have understood it clearly after reading it. Then you will know how to do it correctly when testing next time. |
