Causes of persistent ectopic pregnancy

Causes of persistent ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy is very common. Women should seek timely treatment after experiencing an ectopic pregnancy, otherwise it will have a great impact on the body. And if women often have ectopic pregnancies, they must have a physical examination so that they can have some understanding of the reasons for themselves, so that this situation will not happen again during the next pregnancy. What is the cause of persistent ectopic pregnancy? Many women are not clear about it. The following is a detailed introduction.

Causes of persistent ectopic pregnancy:

The main cause of persistent ectopic pregnancy is the failure to completely eliminate trophoblastic cells during conservative surgical treatment of ectopic pregnancy, resulting in their continued growth. The cause of the disease is not yet very clear. Relevant literature reports that it may be related to the following factors: (1) Early ectopic pregnancy (42 days of amenorrhea, mass 2 cm). During this period, there is a lack of a clear interface between the eroded trophoblast and the implantation site in the fallopian tube, making it difficult to peel off the embryonic sac and prone to incomplete removal. (2) In tubal pregnancy, most trophoblasts are implanted in the fallopian tube, eroding the muscular layer and serosa, making it difficult to perform tubal incision to remove the embryo. (3) The occurrence of persistent ectopic pregnancy is related to the preoperative blood HCG level and the surgical method.

Diagnostic criteria

There is no uniform standard for the diagnosis of persistent ectopic pregnancy, which mainly relies on postoperative monitoring of blood HCG, such as (1) elevated blood HCG levels after conservative surgery, or continued growth of trophoblastic cells found in the ipsilateral fallopian tube, leading to reoperation or drug treatment. (2) The blood HCG level increases after surgery or decreases by 20% twice 3 days apart. (3) Symptoms and signs of ectopic pregnancy exist, and in severe cases, there may be internal bleeding.

symptom

1. Premature cessation or delay of menstruation: The patient will experience temporary cessation of menstruation or delayed menstruation. The symptoms are not very obvious and are similar to those of pregnancy, making it difficult for many patients to distinguish.

2. Bleeding: A small number of people will have a small amount of bleeding. Patients can pay attention to the amount and color of blood in the stool. If the color of the blood in the stool is darker and the amount of blood in the stool is relatively small, it may be an ectopic pregnancy.

3. Abdominal pain: Ectopic pregnancy can cause the fallopian tube to rupture, resulting in severe abdominal pain. It is painful and tearing, and a large amount of mucus accumulates in the pelvic cavity, causing difficulty, heaviness, and discomfort during bowel movements.

4. Dizziness: If not treated for a long time, there will be heavy bleeding. The more bleeding, the more painful the dizziness, loss of appetite, general weakness, mental depression, cold sweats, etc. will be. In severe cases, there will even be symptoms of transient shock, accompanied by nausea, dry heaving and other symptoms.

After understanding the cause of persistent ectopic pregnancy, the treatment of persistent ectopic pregnancy should be carried out according to the cause of the woman. However, when treating persistent ectopic pregnancy, women should not have sexual life, otherwise it will not be beneficial to the body adjustment and will also induce another ectopic pregnancy in women. Women should pay attention to this.
