What causes vaginal wall shedding?

Many female friends will experience vaginal wall shedding when they reach a certain age. So what causes vaginal wall shedding? How to treat vaginal wall loss? I believe that female friends are very concerned about this. I have collected the following content about the causes of vaginal wall shedding. I hope these contents can be helpful to everyone. Let’s take a look together.

During childbirth, when the fetal head passes through the vagina, the pubic bladder, cervical fascia and pubococcygeus muscle are inevitably stretched to the extreme, or even torn. If you do not get enough rest in the early postpartum period, especially if you engage in physical labor too early, the vaginal support tissue cannot return to normal or nearly normal, causing the bladder to lose its support and bulge into the vaginal wall.

The vaginal wall is composed of the mucosa, muscularis, and adventitia. The vaginal mucosa forms many transverse folds. The mucosal epithelium is a non-keratinized stratified squamous epithelium, which is relatively thick. Generally, although the surface cells contain transparent keratin granules, keratinization does not occur. In patients with vaginal prolapse, local epithelium may appear keratinized. The shedding and renewal of the vaginal epithelium and its certain cyclical changes are affected by ovarian hormones. Estrogen promotes the thickening of the vaginal epithelium and causes the cells to synthesize a large amount of glycogen. The vaginal epithelium is thickest during the late proliferative phase of the menstrual cycle.
