What are the symptoms of heart spasm?

We all know that health is closely related to diet, and an improper diet can lead to various diseases. Heart spasm is one of them. Heart spasm is a serious emergency condition. So what are the symptoms of heart spasm?

What are the symptoms of heart spasm?

Generally speaking, cardiac muscle spasms are caused by conditions of the heart and blood vessels. There are many main causes, such as ischemia, lack of oxygen, and poisoning, which may all lead to cardiac muscle spasms and cause a series of symptoms such as chest tightness, shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, etc. Some may also be caused by aging, high blood lipids, etc., resulting in arteriosclerosis and blood vessel blockage. It is recommended that you go to the hospital for a physical examination and undergo coronary angiography if necessary. Cardiac spasm is also known as coronary artery spasm. Coronary artery spasm refers to a group of clinical syndromes in which the subepicardial aorta undergoes transient contraction, causing partial or complete blockage of the blood vessel, leading to myocardial ischemia. Coronary artery spasm is the primary cause of a variety of cardiac ischemic diseases, mainly including variant angina, unstable angina, acute myocardial infarction, sudden death, etc. Coronary artery spasm is prone to occur in coronary arteries with atherosclerosis, intermittently occurring in the superficial "normal" coronary arteries, and any one or more of its branches may be affected.

The main manifestations of electrocardiogram examination are: ST segment: When coronary artery spasm occurs, the ST segment of the relative lead causes transient changes. In transmural ischemia, the ST segment is elevated, and the ST segment of the corresponding lead is depressed. If the ischemia is localized under the endometrium, the ST segment will be depressed. If persistent muscle spasm causes myocardial infarction, a typical blockage pattern may appear.

What causes heart spasms

Reflex irritation of blood against blood vessel walls;

The compression of the encapsulated blood mass and the hypofunction of blood vessels lead to the destruction of the blood vessel wall structure;

Oxygenated hemoglobin is oxidized by air into high-energy hemoglobin and releases oxygen free radicals, which causes damage;

Other various vasoactive substances, such as 5-HT, catecholamines, hemoglobin concentration and vasoconstriction effect of arachidonic acid metabolites;

Elements such as inflammation and immune response of the skull and its vascular walls.

How to treat heart spasm

Improve the main parameters of the hemodynamic model; repair the vascular self-regulation system; maintain reasonable blood flow.

Vasospasm is a delayed contraction of the large vessels at the skull base after SAH, often manifested on angiography or cerebral blood flow as decreased perfusion in the distal areas of the affected vessels. Vasospasm on angiography has a typical short-term process-it starts 3 to 5 days after bleeding, narrows to a maximum in 5 to 14 days, and gradually recovers after 2 to 4 weeks. In about half of the cases, vasospasm manifests as delayed central nervous system damage, which may worsen or develop into cerebral infarction. 15% to 20% of patients develop stroke or die from vasospasm after standard treatment.

The general treatment measures include blood pressure management and fluid management. Pay more attention to rest in daily life, pay more attention to light taste in diet, avoid eating greasy food, and eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. Statins are the most effective cholesterol-lowering drugs known to date, with multiple effects, such as improving vascular epithelial function, inhibiting smooth muscle cell proliferation, inhibiting platelet aggregation, anti-infection effects and plaque stabilization effects. Secondary prevention strategies for cardiovascular disease represented by antihypertensive and antithrombotic treatments have been very successful. A large number of clinical studies have confirmed the effectiveness of using statins in key subjects with coronary heart disease or cardiovascular disease. Statins have also been confirmed to significantly reduce the risk factors of death from coronary heart disease and non-fatal myocardial infarction, slow down the progression of aortic atherosclerosis, and have a secondary preventive effect on angina pectoris caused by coronary heart disease.
