Why do I have breast swelling after ovulation?

Women should choose some simple foods in their diet during the ovulation period, and don’t eat complicated foods, otherwise it will not be good for the body. Is it normal to have breast pain after ovulation? Many women don’t know about this.

Is breast pain after ovulation normal?

Nipple pain is completely normal. The most painful time is around ovulation, and it hurts if you touch it hard. The follicular phase is slightly lighter until menarche. The pain is the worst around the time of ovulation. I don't know if it's the effect of estrogen. Estrogen levels are highest before and during ovulation. When progesterone is produced, due to the effect of estrogen, the estrogen level is not as high as before ovulation, so the nipple pain is slightly relieved, but it still exists until menstruation comes.

Many women experience breast tenderness or nipple pain during ovulation. Sometimes they really cannot touch their nipples. The main symptoms of the breasts may continue until the eve of the next menarche.

If the underwear is too tight or ill-fitting, doing a lot of exercise will cause local pain due to friction.

Excessive postures during sexual intercourse can damage the nipples and cause pain.

The mammary gland is the target organ of endocrine hormones. In other words, under normal circumstances, that is, during the endocrine changes of the physiological cycle, the mammary gland tissue will be affected by endocrine hormones, resulting in physiological changes. The mammary gland will undergo regular proliferation and regression during the menstrual cycle, which is mainly manifested by breast swelling and mild pain in women before menstruation, and the breast pain will ease or disappear after menarche. This physiological change is a normal physiological phenomenon for pregnant women, but the degree of breast pain varies from person to person.

If this physiological proliferation exceeds a certain range or is incomplete, it will cause breast tissue hyperplasia over time, which is now generally referred to as breast hyperplasia. It is not difficult to see that breast hyperplasia is a benign proliferation and degenerative lesion of breast tissue. In essence, it is neither inflammation nor a tumor. But from a clinical medical point of view, it is one of the common causes of breast pain in women. It is especially common in young women. There is thickening of breast tissue in the upper outer part of the breast. The texture is soft and sometimes there will be unclear lumps, but they are rarely adhered to the surface skin and there is no swollen axillary lymph nodes. Most of them are bilateral. The pain can radiate to the armpits, shoulders, etc. The pain usually relieves after menarche.

It is generally believed that breast hyperplasia is caused by endocrine hormone imbalance. Estrogen metabolism disorder causes excessive estrogen metabolism in the body, resulting in physiological breast hyperplasia and incomplete regeneration. In addition, the liver's estrogen elimination function is abnormal, so that excessive estrogen stimulates the breast tissue poorly and causes breast tissue hyperplasia and space-occupying lesions. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that breast hyperplasia is caused by emotional discomfort, liver depression and qi stagnation, weak qi, and obstructed blood circulation, resulting in qi stagnation, blood stasis, phlegm and blood stasis, which stagnate in the breasts, and the knots last for a long time, accumulating little by little.

After understanding whether breast pain after ovulation is normal, women should not choose medication if they have severe breast pain during ovulation. They can choose some simple massage techniques, which will have a very good effect on alleviating the pain and swelling problem. At the same time, it will not have too much impact on their own body. Women should understand this.
