Can endometrial polyps heal on their own?

Can endometrial polyps heal on their own?

Everyone knows that after getting sick, you need to actively seek treatment, but some people always have a fluke mentality and hope that the disease can heal itself. In fact, in life, some minor diseases can heal themselves without treatment, but some diseases cannot heal themselves. Don't think that any disease can heal itself. Endometrial polyps are a common gynecological disease. This is a disease that grows on the endometrium. If it is not treated, can it heal itself?

Can endometrial polyps heal on their own?

Endometrial polyps are microorganisms that grow on the endometrium. The nature of gastric mucosal polyps is the same as that of surgical intestinal polyps. Endometrial polyps are connected to the endometrium of the uterine cavity through pedicles of varying lengths and thicknesses. Endometrial polyps are prone to irregular uterine bleeding, such as heavy menstruation and prolonged menstruation. At the same time, abdominal pain, abnormal leucorrhea and infertility may also occur. Endometrial polyps cannot heal themselves, so once endometrial polyps are diagnosed, active hysteroscopic surgical removal is recommended.

Symptoms of endometrial polyps

This disease can occur at any age after puberty, but is more common in women over 35 years old. Single, small endometrial polyps often have no clinical symptoms and are often discovered during gross examination after hysterectomy for other diseases or during diagnostic curettage. Some patients may experience menorrhagia and prolonged menstruation, which is related to the increase in endometrial area and excessive endometrial hyperplasia. Large polyps or polyps that protrude into the cervical canal are prone to secondary infection and necrosis, causing irregular bleeding and foul-smelling bloody secretions.

The harm of endometrial polyps to patients cannot be underestimated. The treatment method should be determined according to the size, number and location of the polyps. For polyps that are small in size, not in a special location and have no obvious symptoms, no treatment is required and only regular check-ups are required. However, for those that are large in size and have severe clinical symptoms, active treatment must be carried out.

What causes uterine polyps?

1. Inflammatory factors

It is generally believed that it is caused by long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation. Long-term inflammatory stimulation promotes excessive proliferation of cervical mucosa. In addition, the uterus has a tendency to expel foreign bodies, causing the hyperplastic mucosa to gradually protrude from the base to the external os of the cervix to form polyps.

2. Endocrine disorders

In particular, it is related to excessively high estrogen levels. Estrogen promotes the development of the vagina, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries themselves, and at the same time, the endometrium proliferates and produces menstruation. It can also promote the accumulation of subcutaneous fat, the retention of sodium and water in the body, and the deposition of calcium in the bones.

3. Pathogen infection

It is usually caused by childbirth, miscarriage, postpartum infection, surgical operation or mechanical stimulation, sexual intercourse that damages the cervix, and infection caused by pathogen invasion.
