Less and darker menstrual blood

Less and darker menstrual blood

Gynecological nightmare is a problem that many women have to deal with throughout their lives. Gynecological diseases start with irregular menstruation, and there are many types of factors that lead to gynecological diseases. For example, scanty and dark menstruation is mostly due to hormone secretion and endocrine disorders. It is not ruled out that problems with the uterus or ovaries may cause changes in the color of menstruation.

What is the reason for less and darker menstruation?

Small amount of menstrual blood is mostly caused by low estrogen levels and endocrine disorders. There are many reasons for small and dark menstrual flow. In addition to luteal insufficiency, abnormal thyroid and prolactin function, post-abortion surgery or endometrial adhesion are also among the reasons. In addition, it also includes long-term malnutrition, environmental changes, mental stress, improper menstrual care, cold body, etc.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that scanty and dark menstruation is caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis, which block the blood vessels and cause poor blood circulation. Therefore, the color of blood is dark brown on the first day of menstruation and the last few days when the amount of blood is small. It may be caused by the menstrual blood staying in the uterus for too long, and it is often accompanied by dysmenorrhea.

If you have one or two occasional scant and dark menstrual periods, you can restore them to normal by adjusting your work and rest schedule. If you have scant and dark menstrual periods for a long time, you should go to the hospital for examination and symptomatic treatment.

What to do if your menstrual flow is light and dark

Under normal circumstances, women's menstrual blood is dark red. In addition to blood, it also contains endometrial fragments, cervical mucus and exfoliated vaginal epithelial cells. Some women have a small amount of menstrual flow and dark blood, which may be caused by menstrual blood accumulating in the uterine cavity for a long time. Because menstrual blood is mixed with sloughed endometrial fragments, cervical mucus and vaginal epithelial cells, it appears dark in color. It is not as bright red as the blood flowing out from damaged skin. There are also some small thin fragments mixed in the menstrual blood. In this case, the small amount of dark menstrual flow can be regulated through diet and lifestyle care.

1. Avoid eating raw, cold food; you can regulate your body through dietary therapy such as motherwort soup and brown sugar water.

2. Be careful to clean your external genitalia before and after sex, and be gentle during sex to avoid damaging your reproductive tract.

3. Maintain good hygiene habits, choose breathable cotton underwear, and change and wash them frequently.

4. Avoid having sex during menstruation.

5. Keep a happy spirit and learn to relieve negative emotions.

The arrival of normal menstruation means good health, so you should pay attention when your menstrual period is light and dark. This is your body’s warning to you, so you must take it seriously. If the situation is serious, you can go to the hospital for treatment, but don’t go to an informal small clinic!
