Cervical cells are cervical epithelial cells, which are mainly exposed. We can use the scraping method to scrape out the cervical cells, and the examination needs to be observed under a microscope, so we can understand the function of cervical cells and the precautions of the examination. Because you cannot have sexual intercourse after checking the cervical cells, you cannot flush the vagina and the examination should be done away from the menstrual period. The anatomical histology of the cervix suggests that the surface of the cervix is composed of squamous epithelial cells, and the endocervical canal is composed of columnar epithelial cells. Cervical diseases can be screened clinically by examining cervical exfoliated cells. There are two methods to examine cervical exfoliated cells. The first is the scraping method: use a small wooden scraper to scrape the surface of the cervix for a week and smear it on a glass slide. After staining, observe the cell size and morphology under a microscope. This method is simple to operate, but the accuracy is relatively poor. Another method: liquid-based cytology test, also called TCT, uses a small conical brush in the cervical canal, rotates it in a certain direction for 5 to 6 weeks, puts the brush into a bottle with nutrient solution, and then performs a pathological examination. Cervical disease can be initially screened based on the size and shape of cervical cell nuclei. How to do cervical cytology test 1. Methods of cervical cytology examination After fully exposing the external os of the cervix, rotate the scraper 360 degrees at the external os of the cervix and gently scrape the mucosa and secretions there. The secretions were then evenly spread on numbered slides, immediately fixed in 95% ethanol for 15 minutes, and then taken out and stained with the Papanicolaou staining method. This diagnostic method does not cause damage to the cervix and is not painful. 2. Precautions for cervical cytology examination 1. The person being examined should avoid sexual intercourse within 24 hours before the scraping. .2. Do not flush the vagina, use vaginal suppositories, or perform intravaginal examinations within 24 to 48 hours before the planned examination. 3. When there is cervical inflammation, treatment should be carried out first, and then the scraping should be done to avoid the film being filled with a large number of white blood cells and inflammatory cells, which may affect the diagnosis. 4. It is best to schedule the examination during the non-menstrual period. 5. Anyone who has had sexual intercourse |
