Does ectopic pregnancy have anything to do with sperm?

Many people always attribute ectopic pregnancy to women, thinking that this is because women are too careless in life, or often eat indiscriminately, take health supplements indiscriminately, which leads to ectopic pregnancy. In fact, the main factors are not just these. Although ectopic pregnancy has nothing to do with sperm, it is related to other things and needs timely verification and treatment.

Causes of ectopic pregnancy

During a normal pregnancy, the sperm and egg combine at the junction of the ampulla and isthmus of the fallopian tube to form a fertilized egg. 30 hours after fertilization, the fertilized egg moves toward the uterus with the peristalsis of the fallopian tube and the push of the cilia of the fallopian tube epithelium. If the fertilized egg has not entered the inner side of the uterine cavity before the late blastocyst, ectopic pregnancy is likely to occur.

The causes of ectopic pregnancy include fallopian tube inflammation, fallopian tube dysplasia or dysfunction, intrauterine contraceptive device failure, etc. Disease factors and bad living habits can increase the risk of ectopic pregnancy in women.

1. Fallopian tube inflammation. It can be divided into tubal mucositis and perisalpingitis, both of which are common causes of tubal pregnancy. Severe cases of fallopian tube mucositis can cause complete blockage of the tubal lumen and lead to infertility. The lesions of perisalpingitis are mainly in the serosa or seromuscular layer of the fallopian tube, which often causes adhesions around the fallopian tube, twisting of the fallopian tube, stenosis of the tubal lumen, and weakened peristalsis of the tubal wall muscles, affecting the movement of the fertilized egg.

2. History of tubal pregnancy. Women who have had a tubal pregnancy are more likely to have another tubal pregnancy after recovering from surgical treatment.

3. Insertion of intrauterine contraceptive device. The use of an IUD itself does not increase the incidence of ectopic pregnancy, but if a woman becomes pregnant due to IUD contraceptive failure, the chance of an ectopic pregnancy is greater.

Early symptoms of ectopic pregnancy

Under normal circumstances, when the embryo implants in the uterine cavity after a woman becomes pregnant, it is called an intrauterine pregnancy. If it implants somewhere outside the uterine cavity, it is called an ectopic pregnancy, which is also called ectopic pregnancy in medicine. The most common site of ectopic pregnancy is the fallopian tube, and a few can also be seen in the ovaries, cervix, etc. It means that the embryo does not implant in the uterus, but develops in other parts, and then the fallopian tube ruptures, causing heavy bleeding. This disease is very life-threatening to the mother. The most common causes of ectopic pregnancy are salpingitis and adhesions, such as chronic salpingitis, tuberculosis, endometriosis, etc.

The early symptoms of ectopic pregnancy are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

Abdominal pain: The patient has heavy or severe pain in the lower abdomen, a feeling of defecation, and often cold sweat. If the affected area ruptures, the patient will suddenly feel tearing pain in one side of the lower abdomen, accompanied by symptoms of nausea and vomiting.

Amenorrhea: The early symptoms of ectopic pregnancy can easily be confused with normal early pregnancy reactions. If a pregnant woman experiences amenorrhea and early pregnancy reactions within a short period of time, and sometimes also has lower abdominal pain on one side, and examination reveals that the fallopian tube is normal and enlarged, ectopic pregnancy should be suspected.
