2. Use special tools for natural barrier contraception, such as cervical cap or contraceptive diaphragm. These are devices that are placed inside the vagina to block the cervical canal and prevent male sperm from entering the uterus. The cervical cap or diaphragm usually also contains spermicidal chemicals to further reduce the risk of pregnancy. For women who have never been pregnant, the efficacy is as high as 86%. If the woman is pregnant, the efficiency will drop to 71%.

3. Take birth control pills. Emergency contraception includes short-term birth control pills and birth control pills.
