IVF long protocol process steps

IVF long protocol process steps

In the process of test tube fertilization, one of the steps is egg retrieval for test tube baby. However, before the IVF egg retrieval, the doctor will use drugs to control the growth of the eggs and produce several perfect eggs. However, each doctor will use different dosages and durations of drugs according to the patient's own condition. This is when long-term plans and short-term plans are divided. So what are the steps in the long-term IVF plan?

IVF long-term plan process steps

Doctors generally recommend long-term plans for relatively young people, who are usually under 30 years old. People who choose the long-term plan start using GnRHa at the end of the 3rd week of the menstrual cycle, which is also called the late luteal phase. Ovulation-inducing drugs should be started one and a half weeks after the use of GnRHa, and the development of the uterus should be checked regularly by B-ultrasound. In addition, the estrogen content also needs to be determined through blood tests. The doctor will inject 10,000 IU of HCG at the appropriate opportunity, and the eggs can be retrieved for in vitro fertilization after a day and a half.

Long-term planning program integration into the group

The long-term plan is to induce ovulation in order to obtain more and more eggs and higher quality eggs. Therefore, it is inevitable to communicate with the doctor during this period. The doctor will generally prescribe the patient according to the patient's physical condition and test results. The patient needs to know what kind of person the long-term plan is suitable for, and whether the patient is among the people who are suitable for the long-term plan. The details are as follows:

1. There are requirements for the number of oocytes or test tube embryos, such as PGD, men have undergone epididymal cysts or testicular puncture, sperm donation IVF cycle, etc.;

2. When other plans are used to induce ovulation, premature oocyte release has occurred. For such patients, the long-term plan is the best choice because it can reduce the risk of premature oocyte release.

3. For women who require fresh embryo transfer, the short-term and follicular phase ovulation induction programs will have a certain impact on the endometrial thickness, and frozen embryos and frozen cysts should be performed. However, the long-term program will not affect the endometrial thickness, and fresh embryo transfer can be performed.
