Breast cancer is a nightmare disease for women. It causes great harm to women's bodies and can threaten their lives. This is because breast cancer cells divide very quickly and can easily metastasize to other parts of the body in a short period of time. Therefore, it is very difficult to treat. Is the metastasis rate of early breast cancer high? Let’s take a look at the explanation below. Breast cancer metastases mainly through lymphatic and hematogenous metastasis. The incidence rate is 49%-60%, which is also very common. Breast cancer lymph node metastasis: The rate of lymph node metastasis in breast cancer patients is very high, most commonly in the axillary, followed by the infraclavicular and supraclavicular lymph nodes. There are communicating lymphatic vessels in both breasts, and metastasis and spread to both breasts may also occur. Even if the swollen axillary lymph nodes cannot be palpated clinically, axillary lymph node metastasis is still found in about 1/3 of the cases during surgery. The internal mammary lymph nodes and axillary lymph nodes are the first site of breast cancer metastasis, and the supraclavicular lymph nodes are the second site. The occurrence of lymph node metastasis at this site indicates that breast cancer is in the late stage. Hematogenous metastasis of breast cancer: Breast cancer cells can directly invade blood vessels and cause distant metastasis. The veins of the deep breast tissue, pectoral muscles, and chest wall converge into the axillary vein, which then enters the subclavian vein and innominate vein, and is an important pathway for lung metastasis. Breast cancer has a strong ability to metastasize to distant sites through hematogenous spread, and it occurs earlier, even before lymph node metastases appear. The most common sites are the lungs, followed by bones, liver, soft tissues, brain, adrenal glands, kidneys, ovaries and bone marrow. Breast cancer bone metastasis Symptoms: Various types of bone metastases may cause pain, such as bone pain, local tenderness, decreased mobility, etc. Skull base bone metastases can compress intracranial nerves and cause corresponding paresthesias or paralysis. Breast cancer liver metastasis The incidence rate is 7%-15%, which is also very common, and is generally more common in the thoracic and lumbar spine, pelvis and ribs. Symptoms include bone pain at the site of injury. Liver metastasis is considered by most scholars to be a very important factor affecting patient recovery. Symptoms include: There may not be any clinical discomfort in the early stage, but as the patient's condition progresses, the patient may suffer from liver damage. Non-specific symptoms: fever, poor appetite, fatigue, abdominal distension, weight loss, etc., followed by clinical symptoms and signs such as ascites, jaundice, and hepatomegaly. |
