What causes nipple pain?

I believe that many girls have experienced nipple pain in their lives, especially before a woman's period, when this pain is most likely to occur. Because when a woman's period is about to come, the estrogen in the female body will rise in a short period of time, and this magnetic hormone will cause the female nipple to swell and ache. It may also be due to some other gynecological diseases. So what are the causes of nipple pain?

This is a normal physiological phenomenon. Many women have this reaction, but the degree varies. Don't be nervous!

The earliest breast pain in girls usually occurs between the ages of 9 and 13. At this time, girls' breasts begin to develop and they will have a slight feeling of pain. After menarche, the swelling and pain will disappear on its own as the breasts mature.

Premenstrual breast pain?

Many women experience breast fullness, hardness, and tenderness before menstruation. In severe cases, the breasts may become swollen and painful even with slight vibration or collision. This is caused by increased estrogen levels in the body before menstruation, breast hyperplasia, and tissue edema. The above changes may disappear after menstruation.

Breast tenderness during pregnancy: Some women experience breast tenderness around 40 days of pregnancy due to the placenta and villi secreting large amounts of estrogen, progesterone and prolactin, which causes the mammary glands to enlarge and cause breast tenderness. In severe cases, the pain may last throughout the pregnancy.

Postpartum breast tenderness: Breast tenderness, hardening and pain often occur 3 to 7 days after delivery. This is mainly due to breast lymph retention, venous congestion, interstitial edema and obstructed mammary ducts.

Breast tenderness after abortion:

After an abortion, some women complain of breast tenderness and a palpable lump. This is because the pregnancy is suddenly interrupted, and the hormone level in the body drops suddenly, causing the changes in the breasts to suddenly stop, resulting in breast lumps and breast pain.

Breast tenderness after sex:

This is related to the physiological changes in the breasts during sexual intercourse. People with low libido or disharmonious sex life cannot achieve sexual satisfaction, so breast congestion and swelling are not easy to subside, or they subside incompletely. Continuous congestion will cause breast pain.

In general, breast pain in women is a normal physiological change, or a temporary symptom during pregnancy or after childbirth. There is no need to worry about it. However, if the swelling and pain does not ease for a long time, or even becomes more severe, or if you find a lump with unevenness, unclear edges, and poor mobility when touching the breast, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible.

Premenstrual breast pain is one of the symptoms of premenstrual tension syndrome. Patients with this disease experience breast or nipple pain 7 to 14 days before menstruation, and may even be unable to touch clothes. There may be a lump when pressed, which disappears after menstruation. The disease may be accompanied by chest and flank pain, lower abdominal pain, irritability, or menstrual disorders. The cause of this disease is not yet clear. It may be related to endocrine factors, mental factors, liver disease, water and salt retention in the body, or abnormal release of endorphins, which disrupts the regulatory function of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovary-uterus axis or vitamin B in the body. Deficiency, etc., can induce this disease.
