The difference between milk knot and hyperplasia

The difference between milk knot and hyperplasia

In fact, for many female friends, it is difficult to completely distinguish between milk knots and breast hyperplasia because they cannot be seen from the symptoms. If you feel breast pain or lumps, you should seek medical attention in time to avoid delaying the treatment of the disease. We must pay attention to breast health and take good care of it in our daily lives.

Breast lumps: Breast lumps usually refer to a disease in which lumps grow inside the breast due to the different composition of breast tissue. The most important thing in identifying breast lumps is to distinguish between benign and malignant. Except for breast cancer which is malignant, the lumps caused by breast fibroadenoma, breast hyperplasia, breast milk cyst, breast fat necrosis, etc. are all benign.

Mastitis: Mastitis is a common disease among women. Depending on the cause, it can be divided into acute suppurative mastitis, paraareolar fistula, plasma cell mastitis, etc. Acute suppurative mastitis often occurs during lactation, especially in primiparas. Milk stasis is caused by bacterial infection, which presents as acute inflammation with symptoms of redness, swelling, heat, pain, chills and high fever. In the early stage, it can be treated by manual milk discharge and Chinese medicine patches. After suppuration, incision and drainage are required. After the onset of the disease, not only does the mother suffer extreme pain, but she can also not continue breastfeeding, which affects the health of the baby.

Breast hyperplasia: Breast hyperplasia refers to the proliferation of breast epithelial and fibrous tissue, structural degenerative lesions of breast ducts and lobules, and progressive growth of connective tissue. The main cause of the disease is endocrine hormone imbalance. Fibrocystic breast disease is the most common breast disease in women, and its incidence ranks first among breast diseases. In recent years, the incidence of this disease has been increasing year by year, and the age of patients has been getting younger and younger. According to surveys, about 70% to 80% of women have varying degrees of breast hyperplasia, which is more common in women aged 25 to 45.

Lobular hyperplasia: This disease may occur at any age after puberty. The lesion is a pathological process characterized by dilation, hyperplasia and cystic changes of glandular lobules and breast duct terminals. The depression, loneliness and anxiety caused by adverse mental stimulation are the "catalysts" of lobular breast hyperplasia, which are more common in women aged 25 to 40 who have irregular menstruation, scanty menstruation, short menstrual periods, are unmarried, childless, or are not breastfeeding or have poor breastfeeding.

Breast fibroadenoma: It is a mixed tumor of fibrous tissue and glandular epithelium occurring in the mammary lobule and is the most common type of benign breast tumor. Breast fibroadenomas can occur in women of any age after puberty, but are more common in young women aged 18 to 25. The occurrence of this disease is related to endocrine hormone imbalance, such as relative or absolute increase in estrogen can cause this disease.

Breast cancer: The female breast is composed of skin, fibrous tissue, mammary glands and fat. Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the mammary gland epithelial tissue. 99% of breast cancers occur in women and only 1% in men. Breast cancer in situ is not fatal; however, the cells are loosely connected and can break off easily. Once cancer cells break off, the free cancer cells can spread throughout the body through the blood or lymph, causing metastasis and endangering life. Currently, breast cancer has become a common tumor that threatens women's physical and mental health.
