Pregnant women with constipation eat these more effective than taking medicine

Nowadays, many pregnant women often suffer from constipation. This is because the enlarged uterus will press on the rectum, causing stool to pile up in the intestines and poor excretion, which leads to constipation. Constipation in pregnant women is very normal, so you don’t need to worry too much about it. Just drink more water, eat more vegetables, maintain some dietary fiber intake, and use reasonable methods to adjust in daily life to recover.

It is normal for pregnant women to have constipation. 90% of pregnant women may have constipation.

The reason is that the enlarged uterus presses on the rectum, which can cause constipation. In addition, the influence of a large amount of progesterone in the body reduces the tension of the gastrointestinal smooth muscle and relaxes it, weakens the peristalsis, and pregnant women are less active, so they are more prone to abdominal distension and constipation. According to traditional Chinese medicine, constipation in pregnant women is mostly caused by internal yin deficiency, insufficient yin blood, dry intestines and lack of body fluid, and loss of intestinal moisture. So what should pregnant women do if they are constipated? What should pregnant women eat if they are constipated? They should insist on regular bowel movements, drink more water, eat more vegetables, fruits, corn, soybeans, celery, cabbage and whole grains, increase dietary fiber intake, develop the habit of regular bowel movements, and strengthen exercise. You can also drink honey every day. Active natural mature honey has the effects of relieving deficiency, moistening dryness and relieving constipation, relieving cough and moistening the lungs.

(I) How to treat constipation in pregnant women

Pregnant women can take the following measures to prevent and treat constipation and hemorrhoids, which can reduce or eliminate constipation.

1. Drink more water and eat more green vegetables containing dietary fiber, such as celery and leeks, which can stimulate intestinal peristalsis and increase water intake. Eating more bananas also has a good laxative effect.

2. Appropriately more activities can enhance intestinal peristalsis and facilitate defecation.

3. Develop the habit of defecating on time every day, or squatting on the toilet to defecate on time in the morning or evening. Over time, it will cause the large intestine to defecate conditioned reflex.

4. You can take 30 ml of liquid paraffin (you can also use sesame oil or peanut oil instead), which can lubricate the intestinal wall and reduce the absorption of water in the feces.

5. Drinking a cup of light salt water (about 500 ml) on an empty stomach every morning is beneficial for bowel movements. However, it is not suitable to drink for a long time, and people with high blood pressure and severe edema are prohibited from drinking it.

6. Drink honey water. Honey has a good effect of moisturizing the intestines and is beneficial for bowel movements.

I also suffered from frequent constipation when I was pregnant. Later, I drank eucalyptus winter honey 2 to 3 times a day, 40 grams each time. The effect was seen in a few days. I drank it for more than a month and the constipation disappeared.
