Women must know when the dangerous period is

Speaking of the dangerous period, adult female friends are no strangers to it, especially for married women who don't want to have a baby so early, the number of days of the dangerous period is particularly important. So when is the dangerous period for women? Let's take a look at the calculation method of the dangerous period for women!

When is the dangerous period?

"Safe period" and "dangerous period" refer to the time interval during the menstrual cycle when the egg meets the sperm to become a fertilized egg and conception. The "dangerous period" is the opposite and it becomes the "safe period". After the egg is released from the ovary, it can survive in the fallopian tube for 1-2 days, waiting for fertilization; the male's sperm can maintain fertilization potential in the female's reproductive tract for 2-3 days, so it is easy to get pregnant through sexual intercourse a few days before and after the egg is released. Therefore, if the ovulation day (usually 14 days before menstruation) is taken as the base number, the 5 days before and 4 days after ovulation, together with the ovulation day, a total of 10 days are called the ovulation period, which is also the dangerous period. Because it is easy to get pregnant through sexual intercourse during the ovulation period, the ovulation period is also called the fertile period or the dangerous period.

What are the dangerous periods?

If your menstrual period is normal, counting from the first day of menstruation, the first 7 days and the last 8 days are the safe period, and the rest of the time is dangerous. During a month, when your sexual desire is the strongest, it happens to be your ovulation period, which is the most dangerous.

How to calculate the danger period

The dangerous period is the fertile period (ovulation period), which is a few days before and after the ovulation day. To be on the safe side, we call the 5 days before and 4 days after ovulation, together with the ovulation day, a total of 10 days, the ovulation period. It is easier to get pregnant if you have sex during the ovulation period. The dangerous period only refers to contraception. If you plan to have a child, you must arrange sexual intercourse during this period.

The egg's ability to conceive is only 24 hours at most after ovulation, while the lifespan of sperm is about 3-4 days. Ovulation can sometimes occur a few days earlier or later, so the dangerous period should be extended by a few days, which is "five or six days before ovulation to two or three days after ovulation." Ovulation usually occurs between two menstrual periods.

If menstruation comes every 28-30 days, then the ovulation day is around the 14th to 16th day of menstruation. In this way, you can roughly calculate the dangerous period (i.e. conception period, ovulation period)

In addition, there is a universal and simple quick calculation method: "The longest menstrual cycle minus 11, the shortest cycle minus 18", and the dangerous period is in between. For example, if menstruation comes every 28-30 days, 30-11=19, 28-18=10, the dangerous period is from the 11th to the 19th day of menstruation.

Will I definitely get pregnant during the dangerous period?

Having sex during the dangerous period only increases the chances of pregnancy, but does not necessarily mean pregnancy.

The necessary conditions for conception are:

1. The man's testicles must produce normal sperm and be able to enter the woman's vagina.

2. After entering the vagina, the sperm can remain active and can pass through the cervix and uterus smoothly to reach the fallopian tube.

3. The woman's ovaries must be able to produce normal eggs that can enter the fallopian tubes and combine with sperm to become fertilized eggs.

4. The fertilized egg enters the uterine cavity through the fallopian tube. At this time, the endometrium must be suitable for the implantation and development of the fertilized egg.

The above four links are indispensable, and any abnormality in any link may affect pregnancy.

Is it useful to take contraceptive pills during the dangerous period?

As long as the emergency contraceptive is used correctly according to the instructions, the contraceptive rate is generally more than 90%. In most cases, pregnancy will not occur. It is recommended to use condoms when having sex during the dangerous period. Emergency contraceptive pills are only used when contraception fails. The estrogen level contained in emergency contraceptive pills is very high. The dosage of one emergency contraceptive pill is equivalent to the dosage of 8 days of regular short-acting oral contraceptive pills. Taking too much will cause gastrointestinal discomfort, menstrual cycle disorders, ovarian suppression and other phenomena, which will disrupt normal menstruation and cause endocrine disorders. If taken for a long time, it may cause amenorrhea in severe cases. This will affect ovulation and thus pregnancy. Generally, take up to 3 pills per year.
