How to treat endometrial polyps?

I believe that every woman is familiar with the disease of endometrial polyps. When a woman suffers from this disease, the most obvious symptom is irregular menstruation or irregular bleeding during sexual intercourse. Many women do not pay attention to their condition and do not seek treatment in time, and miss the best treatment period, which makes the symptoms of the disease worse. So how to treat endometrial polyps?

Treatment of endometrial polyps:

1. Drug therapy: Drug therapy is divided into two types: Chinese medicine and Western medicine. It targets the causes of uterine polyps, the excessive growth of endometrial glands or stroma and the accompanying blood vessels. Therefore, the purpose of drug therapy is to reduce vascular activity and achieve the purpose of local treatment. In addition, other therapies combined with drug conditioning can generally achieve the purpose of treating both the symptoms and the root cause.

2. Conservative treatment: Given that most polyps are not malignant, one approach is expectant management without intervention. Class II evidence shows that approximately 25% of polyps regress spontaneously and that smaller polyps are more likely to regress than polyps greater than 10 mm in length [11, 47, 83]. Asymptomatic postmenopausal polyps are unlikely to become malignant[37] and after discussion and informing the patient, observation and conservative treatment can be chosen.

3. Physical therapy: Physical therapy uses physical effects to ablate diseased tissue and ultimately achieve the purpose of removal. Currently, the more common physical therapies include laser therapy, BBT radiofrequency ablation, LEEP knife and other treatment methods. Although their physical effects are not exactly the same, their purposes are actually the same.

4. Surgical treatment: Surgical treatment and polypectomy through surgery. With the rise of minimally invasive uterine and abdominal surgery, surgical therapy has also begun to be used vigorously. The surgical removal of polyp tissue can quickly achieve the purpose of treatment. Although minimally invasive surgery for uterine infertility has greatly reduced the harm of surgery, surgery may not be suitable for some patients with special requirements.

The above is an introduction to how to treat endometrial polyps. Therefore, when a woman feels uncomfortable or abnormal, she should immediately go to a large hospital for relevant examinations. Once the disease is diagnosed, she should actively take treatment. The specific treatment method should be selected by the patient according to the symptoms of the disease. During the treatment, pay more attention to the hygiene of the genitals and keep them dry.
