Uterine prolapse is a common disease. It mostly occurs in women who have given birth to many children, are malnourished, or do strenuous physical work. Many women have suffered from uterine prolapse and need immediate treatment. So I would like to ask what is uterine prolapse? What should I do if I have uterine prolapse? What are the causes of uterine prolapse? The following editor will explain to you.

What is uterine prolapse?

Uterine prolapse refers to the uterus descending from its normal position along the vagina, with the external cervical opening reaching below the level of the sciatic spine, or even the entire uterus slipping out of the vulva, often accompanied by protrusion of the anterior and (or) posterior wall of the vagina. The front and back walls of the vagina are close to the bladder and duodenum, so uterine prolapse may also be accompanied by protrusion of the bladder urethra and duodenum. Uterine prolapse is related to the relaxation of various ligaments supporting the uterus and the weakening of the pelvic support frame. It is therefore common in women who have given birth to multiple children, are malnourished, or engage in physically demanding work, with a prevalence rate of 1% to 4%.

What to do if your uterus is prolapsed

Because surgery for uterine prolapse will have a certain impact on vaginal delivery, surgery for uterine prolapse is only suitable for women with serious cases and those who are no longer fertile. The following are the treatments for uterine prolapse:

1. Pessary treatment

(1) A pessary is a medical device used to treat female uterine prolapse. It has been used to treat uterine prolapse for a long time. It can enable patients to control themselves, but it is not suitable for patients with severe uterine prolapse and excessive relaxation in the vagina.

(2) The size of the pessary should be slightly larger than the reproductive crack. The thickness of the crack is generally more than 4 cm, so a medium-sized pessary is often chosen. After a period of time, the pubococcygeus muscle gradually recovers its elasticity, the slipped part is restored, the tissue edema subsides, the weight is relieved, and the uterus will no longer slip.

(3) The time of use is generally to put the tray on before getting up in the morning and take it off and clean it at night. No need during menstrual period. The surface of the plastic tray is smooth, it is not easy to mold when exposed to strong acids and alkalis, and it has little irritation to tissues. After being cradled, the symptoms subsided and the patient could do all kinds of work without any pain.

2. Common problems with self-treatment

(1) Pay attention to bed rest. When sleeping, you should raise your buttocks or feet to increase the height ratio of two bricks.

(2) Do not get out of bed and move around too soon after giving birth, and especially do not force yourself to do heavy physical work.

(3) Avoid standing or squatting for a long time, holding your breath, and other postures that increase abdominal pressure.

(4) Maintain smooth toileting.

(5) Promptly treat chronic bronchitis, diarrhea and other diseases that increase abdominal pressure.

(6) The breastfeeding period should not exceed 2 years to prevent shrinkage of the uterus and supporting tissues.

(7) Carry out appropriate physical exercise to improve physical fitness.

(8) Improve nutritional content and eat more foods that have the effect of replenishing qi and blood, nourishing the kidneys and strengthening yang, such as chicken, Chinese yam, snow peas, lotus seeds, Poria cocos, loach, dried oysters, amaranth, red dates, etc.

(9) Controlling the sexual life of the couple.
