Self-examination of vulvar inflammation

Self-examination of vulvar inflammation

Due to the special nature of their reproductive parts, women are very susceptible to infection, which is why gynecological diseases are so common. Most women have some minor gynecological problems, but because they are so common, they are ignored by some people. Among them, vulvar inflammation is one of the most typical. What is vulvar inflammation and how do you know that you have this disease? Here, let's talk about these two issues with everyone.

The vulva refers to the female external genitalia, that is, the exposed part of the genitals, including the tissue from the pubic symphysis to the perineum and the inner sides of the thighs. Vulvitis is an inflammatory lesion of the skin or mucous membrane of the vulva, such as redness, swelling, pain, itching, erosion, etc.

The methods for women to self-examine their vulva can be summarized in three words: "look, smell, and touch."

"Look" can be done by placing a small mirror under the vulva, moving the mirror back and forth and left and right to observe your vulva with the help of the mirror. In addition, some clues can be found by observing vaginal secretions, such as the color, clarity, and thickness of leucorrhea and menstrual blood.

Normal leucorrhea is a thin liquid of clear white color, normal menstrual blood is bright red or light red, and some people may have a small amount of blood clots.

"Smell" means using your nose to smell the odor emitted by secretions, menstrual blood or the vulva. The normal smell is generally a light fishy smell, sweaty sour smell or no smell. If there is a fishy, rancid, or peculiar smell, there may be a problem.

When "touching", wash your hands first, and use the "finger pads" (commonly known as "finger pads") of your index and middle fingers to touch the vulva in sequence, starting from the "mons pubis" area, from top to bottom, until the anus.

When you touch the vulva normally, it should feel smooth and soft. If you don't press hard, you won't feel any pain. Of course, under normal circumstances, you shouldn't feel any small nodules or lumps. Otherwise, you may be sick.

From the above, we know what vulvar inflammation is, and also talked about the self-examination method of this disease. This method is practical and can be performed by yourself, so women must be responsible for their own bodies, check themselves regularly, and carefully observe every change in their bodies, so as to take precautions before it happens.
