Fetal head position pictures

Generally speaking, the head position of the fetus will be different at different stages of pregnancy, especially when she starts to grow, the position of her head will be on top, but as the pregnancy continues to change, the fetus will gradually turn until her head turns to the bottom. So, what are the postures of the fetal head position?

1. Several types of postures in fetal head position photos

1. Head position

The cephalic position is the normal fetal position, that is, the head of the baby is delivered first from the mother, which is the common fetal position. This is further divided into occipital position, occipital position, facial position, frontal position and so on. "Occiput anterior position" is what we usually call a relatively correct fetal position, which is most conducive to normal delivery. That is, the fetus faces toward the mother's spine, with its back against the mother's belly, its hands crossed on its chest, sitting cross-legged, and its head (back of the head) in the pelvic tunnel.

2. Breech presentation

It is one of the common abnormal fetal positions, with the buttocks down and the head up. But don't worry before 30 weeks, after 30 weeks most babies can naturally rotate into a head position. A very small number of women persist in breech presentation, accounting for about 3-4%. Delivery by pregnant women in breech presentation poses great risks to the fetus, and is prone to umbilical cord prolapse, fetal arms raised horizontally, and difficulty in posterior and left and right movement. Breech presentation can be divided into: mixed breech presentation, single breech presentation, single-foot presentation, and double-foot presentation.

3. Horizontal position

This is a relatively dangerous fetal position, that is, the fetus lies sideways in the uterus. The fetus lies horizontally in the uterus, accounting for about 0.25% of the number of births. Although the horizontal position makes natural delivery difficult, most of them will change to longitudinal delivery in the late pregnancy. If the transverse position is maintained, a cesarean section must be performed.

2. Causes of transverse fetal position

1. Abnormal amniotic fluid in pregnant women:

The amniotic fluid of pregnant women is the fluid that the fetus secretes and absorbs during its growth and development. Too much or too little amniotic fluid is not good for the growth and development of the fetus. Too much amniotic fluid can easily cause the fetus to roll over in the uterus, while too little amniotic fluid cannot allow the fetus to turn over, resulting in the fetus being unable to turn back to position revulsion.

2. Twin pregnancy:

When more than two fetuses share the same amniotic fluid in the uterus, in most cases, the amniotic fluid cannot take into account the fetus's turn, so it cannot return to its original retroverted position, resulting in a transverse position of the fetus.

3. Causes of uterine uterus:

Hidden uterus or bicornuate uterus can cause the fetus to fail to turn into situs retrograde. Another reason is that after a primipara has given birth to a child, the uterus becomes loose. In this case, the fetus is prone to shaking, which can also easily lead to the occurrence of a transverse position of the fetus. In addition, a tumor in the uterus can also cause the fetus to be in a transverse position.

4. There are many other reasons

Such as: the length of pregnancy week, the size of the embryo in the uterus and the location of the embryo implantation, the umbilical cord of the fetus is too short, etc., these are all reasons that lead to the transverse position of the fetus.
