Is there a problem if there is a lot of vaginal discharge during ovulation?

During the ovulation period, women will have a lot of leucorrhea, which is thin, watery, clear in color, and looks like egg white. During the ovulation period, women usually only experience an increase in vaginal discharge, but the smell of the vaginal discharge will not change. If the amount of leucorrhea increases and has an odor during ovulation, you are likely to have a gynecological inflammatory disease and should go to the hospital for a check-up.

Observe the leucorrhea to predict ovulation. Some careful women will find that their lower body (genitals) is sometimes dry and sometimes wet. These periodic changes in leucorrhea that occur in different periods of the menstrual cycle can be used to determine when is the ovulation period.

The main component of leucorrhea is cervical mucus, which is controlled by hormones secreted by the ovaries. In the first half of the menstrual cycle, that is, before ovulation, the amount gradually increases and becomes thinner and more translucent, causing the lower body, which has been relatively dry after menstruation, to gradually become moist. When ovulation occurs, estrogen secretion reaches its peak, the amount of cervical mucus is the largest, and its toughness is the greatest. Thin strips of leucorrhea often flow out, which can sometimes be as long as more than ten centimeters (i.e., thread-like). At this time, the woman's lower body is the wettest. When the above-mentioned strip-like leucorrhea flows out, there will be a greasy feeling. This large amount of cervical mucus secretion during ovulation can last for about 2-3 days, which is when women feel the most moist.

During the ovulation period, the amount of leucorrhea usually lasts for about 2 to 3 days, and after these 2 to 3 days, the leucorrhea will gradually decrease. Currently, some people judge whether they are in the ovulation period by the increase of leucorrhea during the menstrual cycle, and often use this observation as a basis for contraception. Of course, strictly speaking, it is not very accurate to judge whether ovulation has occurred based solely on the increase in vaginal discharge during a woman's menstrual cycle.
