What is considered abnormal leucorrhea?

What is considered abnormal leucorrhea?

Generally, adult women will have leucorrhea secretion in their vagina, because leucorrhea can not only prevent foreign viruses from invading the vagina, but also make the vagina more lubricated. However, leucorrhea can be said to be a double-edged sword. It can protect women, but it can also often lead to abnormal leucorrhea for various reasons, causing uncomfortable symptoms such as vulvar itching. So what kind of leucorrhea is considered abnormal leucorrhea?

1. Colorless, transparent, sticky leucorrhea: Similar to egg white, or slightly turbid, but except for the increase of leucorrhea, there are rarely other symptoms. This kind of leucorrhea is more common in chronic cervicitis, endocervicitis and after the use of estrogen.

2. Foamy leucorrhea: If there is grayish white or grayish yellow foamy leucorrhea with a sour and smelly smell, you should consider whether you have been infected with Trichomonas vaginitis.

3. Tofu-like leucorrhea: It is unique to candidal vaginitis. The vulva and vaginal walls are often covered with a layer of white film-like substance. After rubbing, the red and swollen mucosal surface is exposed, which is easily infected by fungi and is often accompanied by vulvar itching and burning pain.

4. Yellow leucorrhea: mostly caused by bacterial infection. Gonorrhea, tuberculosis bacteria, etc. may be the cause of the disease, and Treponema pallidum can also cause purulent infection of the vagina.

5. Watery leucorrhea: In the early stages of malignant tumors, uterine cancer, fallopian tube cancer, etc., there will be an increase in leucorrhea.

6. Bloody leucorrhea: leucorrhea mixed with blood. The appearance of this type of leucorrhea should alert you to the possibility of malignant tumors, such as cervical cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal tumors, etc. This leucorrhea may also occur in some benign lesions, such as senile vaginitis, cervical erosion, etc.

7. Yellow mucous leucorrhea: seen in cervical erosion, chronic cervicitis, etc. It is caused by mild infection.

Knowing the symptoms of abnormal leucorrhea, you should pay attention to your own leucorrhea. If you find the above abnormal problems, you should seek medical attention in time and receive early treatment so that you can recover early. In daily life, you should also pay attention to the hygiene of the vulva, wash the vulva frequently with warm water, and change underwear frequently, which can effectively prevent the abnormal occurrence of leucorrhea.
