Can you get pregnant if you have sex before your period is over?

Many young couples are easily impulsive in their sexual life because they have just gotten married, and they should control themselves well. At this time, some young couples will be bold enough to have sex during the woman's menstrual period. So will sexual life at this time affect pregnancy? Will it harm the body? We have summarized two reasons why you should not have sex during your period.

First, to prevent reproductive system infection

When a woman has her menstrual period, the endometrium peels off piece by piece. When women have sexual intercourse during menstruation, it is easy for bacteria from the vulva and perineum to enter the vagina, cervix and even the uterus. The bacteria grow and multiply where there is blood, causing inflammation on the spot, which is called endometritis. Not only does it cause fever and lower abdominal pain, but it also causes increased menstrual bleeding and prolonged menstruation.

If the infecting bacteria are highly virulent, they may spread through the lymphatic vessels of the endometrium to the outside of the uterus and enter the pelvic cavity, causing acute adnexitis and pelvic peritonitis. This will not only cause fever and abdominal pain, but may also affect future fertility.

Second, it is to prevent the endometrium from flowing back into the pelvic cavity and causing endometriosis. If you have sex during your menstrual period, when the woman's excitement reaches its peak, the uterus will contract. At this time, the endometrial fragments that have fallen off the uterine cavity can enter the fallopian tubes with the pressure of the uterine contraction, and then enter the abdominal cavity and pelvic cavity along the fallopian tubes. No matter where they fall, they will grow on the spot, causing endometriosis.

This disease can cause adhesions between the fallopian tubes, uterus and pelvic cavity, and can also cause hypertrophy of the ovarian surface and blood retention, which can not only destroy the normal development and growth of the eggs, but also affect ovulation, and ultimately cause infertility. Therefore, sexual intercourse is not advisable during menstruation.

So, don’t have sex during your menstrual period. After all, this will harm the health of both people, and everyone should consider their future. Never leave regrets for yourself and the other person in the future just for the sake of temporary happiness.
