Why is the leucorrhea thick and yellow?

Why is the leucorrhea thick and yellow?

Generally speaking, normal leucorrhea is white or milky white with a slight yellowish tint. When a woman is in her ovulation period, her vaginal discharge is colorless and transparent like egg white, and has basically no odor. If the leucorrhea is not like this, it means that there is abnormal leucorrhea and it should be taken seriously. So, what causes leucorrhea to be thick and yellow?

(1) Leucorrhea is milky white or light yellow, purulent, large in amount, and has a foul odor, often accompanied by abdominal pain. It is usually caused by chronic cervicitis or endocervicitis.

(2) If the vaginal discharge is yellow or yellow-green, thin and foamy, or like rice water, grayish white, and has a foul odor, it is mostly caused by Trichomonas vaginalis.

(3) The leucorrhea of patients with gonorrhea is yellow and pus-like.

(4) The vaginal discharge secreted after amoeba infection usually appears as: bloody serous or yellow viscous secretions, sometimes mixed with small rotten meat-like substances (looks like yellow sauce soup).

(5) Leucorrhea is yellowish-white in color, and most of the time it is thick, but sometimes it can be thin. It is typically milky white, like bean curd, or in the form of white flakes or lumps, and is mostly caused by fungal infection.

(6) If there is blood in the leucorrhea, it is common in cervical polyps, side effects caused by intrauterine contraceptive devices, submucosal uterine fibroids, severe chronic cervicitis, etc.

(7) When suffering from fallopian tube cancer, due to the tumor stimulating the fallopian tube epithelium to exude fluid and the necrosis of the diseased tissue, the leucorrhea will be intermittent, clear, yellow-red liquid, flowing out of the vagina in bursts, continuously.

(8) When women suffer from cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, uterine cancer and other diseases, the "leucorrhea" they secrete is often like rice washing water, turbid and has a foul odor, sometimes mixed with blood and is light pink in color, with a large amount of discharge.

I hope that through the introduction of this article, you will have a general understanding of the causes of thick and yellow leucorrhea, and understand that if there is any abnormality in leucorrhea, you should not take it lightly. If your leucorrhea shows such abnormality, you should see a doctor in time. Only early treatment can lead to early recovery!
