What are the disadvantages of drinking for women?

Some people also say that "women are born with a certain alcohol tolerance", so women can drink too much. Indeed, in real life, there are many women who are addicted to alcohol. Experts suggest: It is good for women's health to drink less alcohol, but don't "make a living from it" and let alcohol corrode your body and mind. What should we do? Let’s take a look at the disadvantages of drinking for women.

A woman who often drinks affects the next generation

Drinking a small amount of alcohol is good for the body, but some young women also drink a lot during social activities, which is very harmful to women's health. Because alcohol is toxic to eggs, the eggs will be poisoned by alcohol. The fetus developed from this fertilized egg will have slow growth and brain damage, and its physical and intellectual development after birth will be affected. Therefore, young women should drink alcohol with caution and in moderation. They should not become addicted to alcohol or drink excessively, otherwise it will be harmful to themselves and the next generation.

The mechanisms by which alcohol abuse affects sexual function include:

1. Inhibit physiological sexual arousal. As the alcohol concentration increases, the physiological response of sexual arousal continues to weaken.

2. Excessive drinking causes vitamin deficiency and liver damage, as well as abnormal sex hormone metabolism, resulting in infrequent menstruation and poor vaginal lubrication.

3. Alcohol-induced neuropathic changes interfere with the somatic sensory neural pathways of sexual arousal.

4. Malnutrition caused by alcoholism or its neuropharmacological effects can cause organic damage to the brain, thereby reducing interpersonal and sexual interests.

5. Diseases that cause sexual dysfunction secondary to alcoholism, such as diabetes, hypertension, urinary tract infection, etc.

Drinking during menstruation is more dangerous

1 Basically, women have fewer enzymes involved in alcohol metabolism in their bodies, so their ability to break down acetaldehyde is weaker. Estrogen has a certain inhibitory effect on alcohol dehydrogenase. When the level of estrogen increases, the activity of alcohol dehydrogenase decreases, and the ability to decompose alcohol is weakened, thereby maintaining a higher concentration of alcohol in the body. Before menstruation, the secretion of alcohol-degrading enzymes decreases due to the influence of female hormone secretion. Therefore, the rate of alcohol decomposition decreases, resulting in the alcohol not being excreted but turning into acidic substances. To neutralize these substances, the liver has to continuously produce enzymes, which eventually increases the possibility of causing liver dysfunction.

2 Before menstruation, the activity of degrading enzymes is low and the ability to metabolize alcohol decreases... If your metabolism slows down, you'll be drunk longer and feel more drunk. Therefore, drinking before menstruation can easily become addictive and often becomes the trigger for alcohol poisoning. Therefore, caring for yourself must be implemented at the most fundamental level, and women should also consider their menstrual cycle when drinking.

As a woman, no matter how much you like to drink, you should still protect yourself during your menstrual period. In addition, during menstruation, due to constant bleeding, the body is weak and the resistance is poor. Drinking alcohol will speed up blood circulation, which may lead to increased menstrual flow. If you drink cold beer, it may also cause dysmenorrhea. Therefore, in principle, you should avoid drinking liquor when your period is approaching or during your period. Of course, you can drink a small amount of wine (about 50ml is appropriate), but not too much.
