Causes of stomach upset during pregnancy

Being a mother is a great thing. You carry the baby for ten months and give birth, and go through pain that others can't imagine. Although it is painful, it is really a happy thing to have a little life growing quietly in your belly. Many pregnant women will experience various situations in the process of carrying a baby, and stomach discomfort during pregnancy is one of the most common symptoms. So what causes stomach discomfort?

Generally speaking, pregnant women in the early stages of pregnancy often experience food selectivity, loss of appetite, mild nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, etc., which are called early pregnancy reactions. It is usually heavier in the early morning on an empty stomach and has little impact on life and work. No special treatment is required, and it will disappear naturally around 12 weeks of pregnancy. A few women react severely, with persistent vomiting and even inability to eat or drink. This is called hyperemesis gravidarum. The incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum is not very high. The main reason is related to pregnancy. Once the pregnancy is terminated, the symptoms will disappear immediately, so patients do not need to be overly nervous. With a light diet, reasonable rest, and drug treatment, the prognosis is generally good and the patient can safely pass the pregnancy period. Very few patients undergo termination of pregnancy for treatment.

In my country, people have always used acidic foods to relieve vomiting during pregnancy, and even used acidic drugs to stop vomiting. These methods are not advisable. A large amount of acidic food can reduce the alkalinity in the body, which can easily cause fatigue and weakness. A long-term acidic physique will not only make the mother susceptible to certain diseases, but more importantly, it will affect the normal and healthy growth and development of the fetus, and may even cause fetal malformations. Therefore, pregnant women should not eat too much acidic food. In terms of diet, it is recommended to eat small meals frequently and avoid greasy and spicy foods, which can relieve pregnancy reactions such as nausea and vomiting.

Based on the above understanding of the causes of stomach discomfort during pregnancy, you can reasonably use diet or medication to regulate and control early pregnancy reactions, and effectively relieve the symptoms of stomach discomfort in pregnant women. The process of conceiving a baby is painful but also joyful. You must keep a good mood and overcome various difficulties to give birth to a healthy and happy baby.
