Why is there little fetal movement in the fifth month of pregnancy?

Some pregnant women should pay attention to normal physical phenomena during pregnancy. If any abnormal situation occurs, they need to take appropriate treatment in time to ensure the safety of the patient and avoid fetal problems during pregnancy that threaten the safety of the pregnant woman and the health of the fetus. So why is there little fetal movement in five months of pregnancy? Let me introduce this issue to you below.

Fetal movement usually occurs in the 4th and 5th months of pregnancy, is most frequent and reaches a peak in the 7th and 8th months, and then decreases after the 9th month. It is also different in each time period of the day, such as less during the day and more in the first half of the night. In summary, if you have no other discomfort, the fetal movement is not suddenly stronger or weaker, etc., there is no big problem to consider. If you are really worried, you can go to the hospital for relevant examinations if necessary, such as B-ultrasound, to rule out fetal hypoxia such as umbilical cord around the neck.

Fetal movement refers to the movement of the fetus in the uterine cavity that impacts the uterine wall. That is, starting from the 5th month, the mother can clearly feel the movement of the fetus. The fetus stretches out its hands, kicks its legs, and impacts the uterine wall in the uterus. This is fetal movement. The number, speed, strength, etc. of fetal movements indicate the safety of the fetus. Normal obvious fetal movements should be no less than 3 to 5 times per hour, and more than 30 to 40 times in 12 hours. However, due to the large individual differences between fetuses, some fetuses may move about 100 times in 12 hours. As long as the fetal movements are regular, rhythmic, and do not vary much, it proves that the fetal development is normal.

The number, speed, strength, etc. of fetal movements reflect the health of the fetus. The frequency and amplitude of fetal movements vary at different times during pregnancy.

At the earliest, fetal movement begins at 7-8 weeks of pregnancy. But the pregnant mother cannot feel it at this time, and can only observe the various movements of the fetus in the womb through B-ultrasound. When the mother is four or five months pregnant, she can feel the fetal movement, but the number of fetal movements she can feel at this time is still very small, and the intervals between fetal movements are also very long. This is because the fetus is not strong enough and requires more intense exercise to make the pregnant mother feel it.

The above is my opinion on this issue that I would like to introduce to you. If a pregnant woman has the above problems, then she needs to pay attention to timely conduct corresponding examinations to ensure the safety of the pregnant woman. Once a problem occurs, treatment can be carried out to ensure the health and safety of the body and avoid danger to the patient due to the above problems.
