Who are the high-risk groups for diabetes?

1. The high-risk group for adult diabetes refers to those who have any one or more of the following factors:

(1) Have a history of prediabetes.

(2) Age ≥ 40 years.

(3) Body mass index (BMI) ≥24 kg/m 2 and/or central obesity (waist circumference ≥90 cm for men and ≥85 cm for women).

(4) First-degree relatives have a history of diabetes.

(5) Sedentary lifestyle.

(6) Women with a history of delivering a macrosomia or gestational diabetes.

(7) Women with a history of polycystic ovary syndrome.

(8) Patients with acanthosis nigricans.

(9) Those with a history of hypertension or currently receiving antihypertensive treatment.

(10) High-density lipoprotein cholesterol <0.90 mmol/L and/or triglycerides >2.22 mmol/L, or those who are currently receiving lipid-lowering drug treatment.

(11) History of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD).

(12) History of steroid drug use.

(13) Long-term treatment with antipsychotics or antidepressants.

(14) The total score of the Chinese Diabetes Risk Score is ≥ 25 points.

2. Children and adolescents at high risk

Children and adolescents who are overweight or obese and have at least 1 of the following 3 risk factors:

(1) The mother has diabetes during pregnancy (including gestational diabetes).

(2) First- or second-degree relatives have a history of diabetes.

(3) The presence of clinical conditions related to insulin resistance, such as acanthosis nigricans, polycystic ovary syndrome, hypertension, dyslipidemia, etc.
