How many days does it take for the embryo to implant?

The place where the human egg and male sperm fuse is in the bilateral fallopian tubes. After the man's sperm is ejaculated into the vagina during sexual intercourse, it moves up along the woman's reproductive system to the fallopian tubes on both sides. A large group of sperm undergoes the contraction of the uterus and fallopian tube muscles during the operation process. A large number of sperm lose their vitality and decay. In the end, only about 20 to 200 sperm reach the vicinity of the egg, and finally only one sperm fuses with an egg cell. So, how many days does it take for the fertilized egg to implant?

How many days does it take for the fertilized egg to implant?

The test tube embryo (sperm and egg combination) implants on the 6th-7th day. Embryo implantation means that the embryo has reached the uterus, but it is still small at that time and cannot be seen with B-ultrasound. The small fetal sac can only be clearly seen with B-ultrasound about 20-30 days after the embryo implants.

However, 3-4 days after the embryo implants (that is, after the tenth day after ovulation), a weak positive result can be detected using a pregnancy test strip.

The whole process of embryo implantation

Embryo implantation is a whole process of transformation from sperm and egg fusion, which means that the sperm and egg are combined and adsorbed on the inner wall of the uterus.

It takes about 24 hours for sperm and egg to combine. When a capacitated sperm enters the zona pellucida of a secondary coil oocyte, sperm-oocyte fusion begins.

When the sex chromosomes of the egg pronucleus and sperm pronucleus combine together, it means that the sperm-egg fusion has taken place. After 36 hours of sperm and egg combination in the bilateral fallopian tubes, they break down into two somatic cells, and after 72 hours they break down into 16 somatic cells, which are called morula. On the 4th day after fertilization, the cell mass enters the uterus and continues to grow in the uterus. At this time, the cell mass has broken down into 48 cells, becoming a blastocyst ready for implantation. The blastocyst can secrete a growth hormone that helps the blastocyst embed itself into the uterine wall. On the 6th to 7th day after fertilization, the blastocyst begins to implant. The embryo implantation site is mostly in the upper 1/3 of the uterus. Embryo implantation means that the test tube embryo has been placed and has begun to form an embryo and create a fetus.
