Ultrasound differential diagnosis of ovarian dermoid cyst

Ultrasound differential diagnosis of ovarian dermoid cyst

Ovarian dermoid cysts are harmful to women's health. Therefore, for many patients, when this disease occurs, in order to get rid of it as soon as possible, they want to fully understand the ultrasonic differential diagnosis of ovarian dermoid cysts. In order for you to have a comprehensive understanding, please take a look at the detailed introduction below, I hope it will be helpful to you.

① Ovarian cysts: mostly unilateral, regular in shape, round or oval, echo-free areas, thin walls, smooth and clear edges, and no adhesion to surrounding tissues;

The similarity with the simple anechoic type of chocolate cyst is that both are anechoic. There may be scattered tiny light spots echoes in the cyst, and CDFI shows no obvious blood flow signal in the cyst.

② Ovarian mucinous cystadenoma: mostly located on both sides of the uterus, with regular shape, round or oval, clear boundaries, no adhesion to surrounding tissues, and generally larger;

The common features of multicystic chocolate cysts are: thick wall, light bands separating the cysts, and dense or scattered light spot echoes; CDFI shows no obvious blood flow signals in the cysts.

③ Ovarian dermoid cyst: regular shape, round or oval, with intact and smooth capsule. Its contents are composed of 2 to 3 ectoderm tissues, so its structure is relatively complex. The polycystic sign and chaotic structure sign should be distinguished from the polycystic type and cystic-solid mass type of chocolate cyst; the polycystic sign of ovarian dermoid cyst is manifested as cysts within cysts; the solid masses in the chaotic echo type have strong echoes because they contain bones, hair, teeth, etc., and are accompanied by acoustic shadows; the masses in the cysts are not connected to the posterior wall of the cysts; CDFI shows that a small amount of blood flow signals can be seen in the solid echoes.

④ Inflammatory masses: The cyst wall is mostly composed of fibrous cord tissue, intestinal tube, greater omentum and internal reproductive organs, so the shape is mostly irregular, without capsule, unclear boundary, internal echo light spots, spots and light bands are randomly distributed, and adhere to the surrounding tissues. CDFI shows that the blood flow signal inside the mass is relatively rich; when there is tubal pyosalpinx and tubo-ovarian abscess, thickened, tortuous continuous tubular structures of varying sizes with blurred edges can be detected in the adnexal area;

The ultrasonic differential diagnosis of ovarian dermoid cysts is introduced in detail above for many patients. Therefore, for many women with such diseases, in order not to affect the health of their ovaries, they must understand the ultrasonic differential diagnosis and undergo a comprehensive examination to treat their disease as soon as possible and make their ovaries healthier.
