How many degrees of cervical erosion are there?

Cervical erosion is a very serious chronic gynecological disease, which has a great impact on women's health and safety. We often hear people around us say moderate cervical erosion or severe cervical erosion. How do we distinguish them? How many degrees are there for cervical erosion? In fact, according to the severity of cervical erosion, there are three degrees of cervical erosion. The first is early cervical erosion, which is also mild, followed by moderate and severe. Because the disease is not easy to detect in the early stage, many people have already entered a stage where treatment is more difficult when they discover the disease. So how can we better detect it in daily life?

1. Mild: It means that the erosion area is less than 1/3 of the entire cervical area. Patients with mild cervical erosion generally do not have any discomfort symptoms, and may only have increased vaginal discharge, which can be easily overlooked.

2. Moderate: The erosion area accounts for 1/3 to 2/3 of the entire cervical area. The main symptom of moderate cervical erosion is increased vaginal discharge. The color, odor, and amount of discharge may vary depending on the infected pathogens, the scope and degree of inflammation.

3. Severe: It means that the erosion area occupies more than 2/3 of the entire cervical area. The main symptom of severe cervical erosion is increased vaginal discharge, and you always have to change your underwear or sanitary pads. The color, smell, amount, etc. of the secretions may vary depending on the infectious pathogens, the scope and degree of inflammation. It can appear as milky white mucus or light yellow purulent fluid. When accompanied by cervical polyps, there is a high risk of bloody leucorrhea or bleeding after sexual intercourse.

Cervical erosion is divided into several degrees. Since cervical erosion is related to the incidence of cervical cancer, in addition to observing the size, type, hardness of the eroded area and the shape of the cervix, it is more important to perform a cervical scraping and cytological examination to identify early cervical cancer. If necessary, a little cervical tissue can be taken for pathological examination under colposcopy, which will be more helpful for a comprehensive differential diagnosis of the two.

From the above we know that cervical erosion is divided into three stages: mild, moderate and severe. Because the causes of cervical erosion are different, the treatment methods are also different. Therefore, female friends must understand their own situation. In daily life, they must pay attention to their personal hygiene. If they find that their leucorrhea is abnormal, they must go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time, so that the disease can be treated early.
