What to do if you have insomnia during early pregnancy

Pregnancy is a very special and important period for women, because certain changes occur in the body, and diet and sleep conditions will also change accordingly. The most obvious change is insomnia in women in the early stages of pregnancy. The occurrence of insomnia is largely due to the nervousness of expectant mothers. Insomnia not only has a great impact on the physical condition of pregnant women and the normal development of the fetus, so during pregnancy, insomnia must be taken seriously. So what should expectant mothers do if they suffer from insomnia in the early stages of pregnancy?

1. Relax your body and mind. To prevent insomnia, you can listen to some soothing and rhythmic music before going to bed, such as cello music, the sound of dripping water, etc., because these sounds can relax the body and mind, and also establish the prerequisite reflex to induce sleep.

2: To effectively treat insomnia, relaxation is the most important thing. In this case, although the mental flow is still functioning, the tension of the sympathetic nervous flow has been reduced, making it easy to relax the body and mind and allow the body to slowly enter a sleep state.

3: After getting up in the morning, you can take a walk, breathe fresh air to adjust your mood, and watch TV, read books or newspapers in the evening. Pregnancy is an exciting but physically demanding time. Physical symptoms (nausea, leg cramps, fetal movements) and emotional changes (depression, worry, anxiety) during this period can interfere with sleep. The survey found that 78% of women suffer from insomnia during pregnancy and the early postpartum period more than at other times, so there is no need to worry too much.

4. Maintain a good attitude: If insomnia is caused by psychological reasons, you can solve it by eliminating unnecessary worries and maintaining a good mood, such as listening to relaxing music, watching pleasing scenery movies, relaxation training or asking a psychologist for help, and using psychotherapy; if it is a pathological reason, be sure to seek medical treatment in time to avoid aggravating the condition.

5. Let music help you calm down. The main steps of this method are: lie on your back with your eyes closed after going to bed, cover your left ear with your left hand, cover your right ear with your right hand, then tap the back of your head with your fingers until you feel tired, then let your head slowly rest on the pillow, and keep your hands on both sides of your body. This will effectively prevent insomnia.

The above are the measures that expectant mothers can take when they suffer from insomnia in the early stages of pregnancy. Insomnia is a very common condition, so expectant mothers do not need to worry too much. They should adjust their mental state, arrange their diet reasonably, and ensure their daily nutritional intake. They can read more books and listen to light music, which are all very effective in relieving tension. Health needs to be maintained, so when expectant mothers suffer from insomnia, they must relax.
