What to do if you have contractions before labor

What to do if you have contractions before labor

Uterine contractions before delivery are a normal phenomenon, which every mother will experience. For this reason, you will realize how difficult it is to give birth. What we need to do is to observe our physical health carefully and pay attention to the timing of our uterine contractions, so that we can better conceive a baby. Pay more attention to your physical health, which is very beneficial to your body.

Starting from the 28th week of pregnancy, false contractions will often occur in the abdomen. If a pregnant woman stands or sits in the same posture for a long time, she will feel her abdomen hardening from time to time. This is called false labor, which is characterized by irregular timing and varying degrees of intensity. Before delivery, false labor will become more and more frequent due to the traction stimulation of the lower uterine segment caused by the descending fetal head. In the late pregnancy, false labor may cause mild distension and pain in the lower abdomen. It often occurs in the dead of night and disappears at dawn. The frequency of contractions is inconsistent, the duration is not constant, the intervals are long and irregular, the intensity of contractions does not gradually increase, and there is no feeling of falling, and the symptoms are relieved during the day. False labor indicates that pregnant women will soon go into labor, so they should be prepared, such as getting enough rest and eating more high-energy foods such as chocolate to conserve their energy.

The contractions before delivery are rhythmic. Each contraction goes from weak to strong and lasts for a period of time, usually 30-40 seconds. After disappearing, it enters an interval period of 5-6 minutes. At the beginning, the pain occurred two or three times in half an hour, each time lasting 45 seconds, which was still bearable. Later, it became twice in 10 minutes, each time lasting 2-3 minutes. Only then did it truly turn into effective uterine contraction, and the cervix would gradually open under such contraction.

The contractions are usually regular. If it is false labor, it will happen frequently, without severe pain, irregularly, and with long intervals between them. Starting from the 28th week of pregnancy, false contractions will often occur in the abdomen. If a pregnant woman stands or sits in the same posture for a long time, she will feel her abdomen hardening from time to time. This is called false labor. Before delivery, false labor will become more and more frequent due to the traction and stimulation of the lower uterine segment by the descending fetal head. If the contractions are frequent, painful, or accompanied by bleeding or discharge, and are very regular, ranging from once every two hours to once an hour to once every half an hour to once every ten minutes, you should go to the hospital immediately. When uterine contractions occur, you should immediately lie down in bed and rest (lying on your left side), count the number of contractions within an hour, pay attention to any symptoms of premature birth, and observe fetal movements at all times. If you feel that the fetal movement is reduced, eat first or shake your abdomen with your hands to test and observe; if you are sure that there are symptoms of premature birth or reduced fetal movement, you should go to the hospital for treatment.

The above is about the issue of uterine contractions before delivery. I hope it will be helpful to everyone. What we have to do is to let the doctor check in time, which is very good. Regular check-ups are also very helpful for our physical health. What we have to do is to check and treat in time, which will be very helpful for mothers' bodies.
