What are the effects of sleeping with the light on during pregnancy?

In fact, in life, many people have the habit of turning on the lights when they go to bed, but in fact such a habit is not good for our health, especially for expectant mothers. Try not to turn on the lights when sleeping at night, because such sleeping habits can easily affect the quality of sleep and are not good for the healthy development of the fetus. Therefore, for the health of themselves and the fetus, expectant mothers must pay attention to these issues.

Pregnant mothers should not sleep with the lights on

During pregnancy, expectant mothers are more likely to feel tired than usual, so they must get enough sleep every day. The time of sleep may vary from person to person. It is best to go to bed when you feel sleepy at night and wake up naturally in the morning. For expectant mothers who usually go to bed late and get up late, they must go to bed before 12 o'clock every night so that they can get up around 8 o'clock in the morning. Especially for expectant mothers who have morning vomiting in the early pregnancy, they must go to bed early and get enough sleep.

If conditions permit, it is best for expectant mothers to take a short nap during the day. Many expectant mothers sleep better in the early stages of pregnancy, but as the gestational age increases, the fetus becomes larger, and the expectant mother's abdomen gradually bulges, it becomes difficult for the expectant mother to find a suitable posture when sleeping, and the quality of sleep begins to be compromised. In addition, there are some factors that affect the sleep quality of pregnant mothers:

1) Frequent urination. Due to pregnancy, the expectant mother's kidneys are burdened with increased filtering of 30% to 50% more blood than before pregnancy, so the amount of urine also increases. In addition, as the fetus grows, the expectant mother's uterus becomes larger, and the pressure on the bladder will also increase. Therefore, the increase in the frequency of urination of expectant mothers will inevitably affect their sleep.

2) Leg cramps and back pain. These discomforts are all caused by excessive body burden.

3) Increased heart rate. During pregnancy, the heart needs to pump more blood and the uterus needs blood supply, so the heart's workload increases and the heart rate naturally speeds up.

The above are some of the effects that will occur when expectant mothers sleep with the lights on. I hope that through understanding these contents, expectant mothers can understand these issues more scientifically. Only when we understand these health care common sense and avoid some adverse effects, can we better protect the healthy development of the fetus.
