1. Pelvic mass

Ovarian fibromas vary greatly in shape, with most being medium in size, with an average diameter of about 10 cm. The tumor is smooth, movable, and hard in texture, and is the hardest of all ovarian tumors. This is its important clinical feature.

2. Abdominal and pleural effusion

Ovarian fibroma combined with pleural and peritoneal effusion, after tumor resection, the pleural and peritoneal effusion disappears, which is called Meigs syndrome and is rare in clinical practice.

Ovarian fibroma is often accompanied by ascites, accounting for about 41%. The incidence is higher in patients with larger tumors and edema in the tumor stroma. Ascites is uncommon in benign ovarian tumors and is a characteristic finding of ovarian fibroids. Clinically, symptoms such as abdominal distension, abdominal enlargement, chest tightness, shortness of breath, and difficulty urinating may occur.

3. Abdominal pain

Ovarian fibroma is a solid tumor with a hard texture and a certain weight, which can twist as the patient's body position changes. Nearly half of the patients had clinical symptoms of abdominal pain.

4. Menstrual disorders

A small part of ovarian fibroma still has endocrine function. Clinically, symptoms of menstrual disorders and postmenopausal bleeding may occur.

Some patients (30% to 54%) with ovarian fibroma have no clinical symptoms and are discovered accidentally during physical examinations or other abdominal surgeries.

After understanding the clinical manifestations of ovarian fibroma, the treatment of ovarian fibroma needs to be based on the woman's symptoms. Women should also actively cooperate with the treatment of ovarian fibroma.
